It started with the passage of the Affordable Care Act, which was voted for by exactly zero Republicans. It contained heavy subsidies, paid for by going into more debt, tax revenues going almost exclusively to service the debt already existing.

Temporary subsidies for COVID were added to the existing subsidies in 2021, again voted for by not a single Republican.

Those Temporary subsidies were extended - but not made permanent - by the Orwellian-named Inflation Reduction Act - No Republican input or Republican votes for any of the above.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare, was passed on March 21, 2010, and signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. The law required most individuals to obtain health insurance and required most employers to offer it. It provided tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies for individuals to purchase insurance in the individual market and provided for an expansion of Medicaid to cover childless adults earning incomes up to 138 percent of the poverty level. Insurers were prohibited from denying coverage to individuals with pre-existing conditions, were required to offer a standard set of benefits, and were limited in the ways they could vary their premiums.

Can anyone explain:

1) What exactly is the crises?

2) How did Republicans get us into this crises?

The "Affordable Care Act" was an obvious lie from the get go. It was NEVER meant to make health care more affordable. It was ALWAYS meant as a cloaked expansion of Medicaid to give "free health care" to poor Americans and to illegal immigrants under the table. Probably the biggest and most damaging lie ever foisted on the American People.

I think the Whitehouse just published a huge list of illegals getting free Medicaid. The ACA under Obama raised insurance costs and prices for medical healthcare. It's a total flop.

Says the only country with medical debt bankruptcies.

Under Obamacare - an entirely Democratic Party Instituted program.

So, are you saying that it is a financial crises and not a healthcare crises?

Most people don’t know this about Obummercare

Republicans have gotten us into nothing regarding this issue. Your own alleged documents state it was 0% Republicans.

The ACA needs to be abolished and those who voted for it thrown in the deepest hole for the rest of their lives.

Yes, I admit you are correct.
The ACA needs to be abolished and those who voted for it thrown in the deepest hole for the rest of their lives.
Yes, I have become convinced of that. As part of their punishment, they should have to listen to a drunken Jonathan Gruber explain to them over and over what Obamacare was really about.

We are the only First world country without a centralized healthcare system. We also have the highest infant mortality and lower end rates of average life expectancy.

Emigrate right away, then!

Imo, Republicans are on the horns of a dilemma. They know that the only way out of the healthcare crisis is better national health. However, to advocate for more personal responsibility in this regard would be politically unpopular. Even RFKjr won't breach this subject.

So, there you have it.

FINALLY

Here comes
Trumpcare!

Lest you forgot:

2017
TRUMP: “We’re going to have insurance for everybody. There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.” — to The Washington Post, Jan. 15.
TRUMP: People covered under the law “can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much simplified form. Much less expensive and much better… lower numbers, much lower deductibles.”
TRUMP, at a Cabinet meeting Monday: “Obamacare, all of a sudden, the last couple of weeks, is getting a false rep that maybe it’s OK. It’s not OK, it’s a disaster and people understand that it’s failed and it’s imploding. And if we let it go for another year, it’ll totally implode.”

The only solution is for people to take better care of their health. The medical/drug industry is reaping a rich harvest on the sickness and ignorance of the people. The insurance companies have to raise their prices to keep up with the increasing costs of medical care. As health spirals down, costs spiral up and out of control.

Should the State regulate profit in the private sector?

The reality is that people require medical care, and Americans would not submit to the State issuing and enforcing mandatory requirements for diet and exercise.

People must be educated about health and buy into it voluntarily. The government has to educate the people to this fact. It's the only solution to the problem.
