About the Republican Health Care Crises . . .

People must be educated about health and buy into it voluntarily. The government has to educate the people to this fact. It's the only solution to the problem.
Now do cancer, you know, the thing that kills millions every year.

Nah. 600,000 or so in the U.S. Mostly preventable with better health.

Fat people are responsible for high healthcare costs. If they would lose the weight much of the healthcare/health insurance problem would lessen.

It started with the passage of the Affordable Care Act, which was voted for by exactly zero Republicans. It contained heavy subsidies, paid for by going into more debt, tax revenues going almost exclusively to service the debt already existing.

Temporary subsidies for COVID were added to the existing subsidies in 2021, again voted for by not a single Republican.

Those Temporary subsidies were extended - but not made permanent - by the Orwellian-named Inflation Reduction Act - No Republican input or Republican votes for any of the above.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare, was passed on March 21, 2010, and signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. The law required most individuals to obtain health insurance and required most employers to offer it. It provided tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies for individuals to purchase insurance in the individual market and provided for an expansion of Medicaid to cover childless adults earning incomes up to 138 percent of the poverty level. Insurers were prohibited from denying coverage to individuals with pre-existing conditions, were required to offer a standard set of benefits, and were limited in the ways they could vary their premiums.

A sizeable list of Democrats voted against the original ACA:

The following is a list of U.S. House Democrats who voted against the ACA's passage during the March 21, 2010 vote:

Can anyone explain:

1) What exactly is the crises?

2) How did Republicans get us into this crises?

Republicans, while continually whining about it for years and years, failed to upgrade the ACA or repeal and replace it with "something terrific" that "covers everybody" at "less cost," despite Trump repeatedly promising to do so.

Incredibly, after all those years to design and perfect their plan, with their controlling the executive, the senate, and the house, they have nothing to offer, and are about to end affordable coverage for millions of Americans.

2MM cases. Each of those is a potential medical bankruptcy in the US.
All the more reason to take care of our health early. As recently as the 1940's it was a foregone conclusion that our teeth would rot and have to be replaced by false teeth, then a wondrous thing happened; we discovered dental hygiene and things have gotten better since, although we still have a long way to go.

How do we take care of our health to avoid thyroid cancer?

The cause/causes of thyroid cancer are not known, so specific prevention regimes are not valuable. However, one should strive for the best health possible so the immune system can do its work.

The reality is that anyone, even if one takes every preventative measure, can incur enormous medical expenses resulting in bankruptcy, unless affordable, comprehensive, health insurance is available.

For years, Trump has promised such a plan for all Americans.

Yet, we are talking about the dire need for subsidizing the premiums, even for millionaires. Some "affordable," huh?

Praise Allah that they never passed the "Fair Banking Act," or the "Sturdy Housing Act!" We'd all be living in collapsing homes and paying 73% interest on the mortgages!

I have such a plan, provided by my EMPLOYER, who provides the insurance as part of compensation for my WORK. Deductibles and co-pays are very reasonable.

This is baffling to one who lives in a country where there is no charge at point of contact for hospital treatment for residents and citizens, paid for from the general account:
where all people in the country are covered for treatment and compensation for injuries resulting from accidents, paid for by a worker levy:
where prescriptions are capped at $5/item, no charge for elderly and young, paid for from the general account:
where children under 14 are treated without charge, generally, again funded from the general account.

That voters of the greatest country in the world protest against doing similar for the good of their community makes one think there must be an agenda.

Maybe making sure some people don't get free stuff...

What is this amazing country in which you live?

I'm curious to know if it is one of my country's many protectorates.

That would be like making sure people don't get unicorn horn powder to to use as an aphrodisiac for their leprachaun. We don't stress about things that cannot exist.

Without healthcare might as well shoot yourself in the head. #muskdream
