Economic asylum is not asylum....We need to address that....Everyday in our immigration courts we see these charlatans that crossed our border, ordered deported, and the fact that the vast majority don't show up to these court dates shows that people like you that want compassion for these people were duped....They aren't here for any legitimate reason.

I agree it's the law. Simple as that. If someone wants to change the law (actually change the law, not just wave a magic wand), I'll consider the law and decide to support or not from there.

Fair enough....I could go on a rant about what I think your thoughts would be, but I won't....We need to overhaul the entire immigration system. But, one thing at a time....First, is to secure the border, and get the recent flood of jumpers out of here. Then we can address the protection of our sovereignty through legal legislation.

The real issue here is why is it that you left-leaning folks are so quick to interpret the our immigration laws in a way favors illegals? That is what I don’t understand. I get that laws would need to be changed in some areas, but it as if you want them to be and remain that way. For example, the 14th Ammendment is open for interpretation. The left doesn’t particularly want the Supreme Court to render their interpretation because they like the current way is it being applied, which frankly, is absurd and puts the US in a very small, unique club of countries that allows such nonsense. If the Supreme Court interprets it differently, not allowing just anyone from sneaking over our border illegally and have a baby that is a citizen therefore effectively anchoring the mom as well, why would that be a bad thing? That would most certainly make more sense but leftists don’t seem to care. I just don’t get it.

yes, some are legitimate asylum seekers. and some of them are doing it legally. but the majority of the border crossers are not asylum seekers and many are gang members, cartel runners, or criminals entering our country illegally.
