In a Republic, actually
‘The 2024 election results created complicated new realities for reproductive rights in the U.S., with Americans even in a few red states overwhelmingly voting to protect the right to have an abortion while also overwhelmingly electing anti-abortion representatives in state houses, courts, Congress and the White House.
[…]
Though many anti-abortion leaders are skeptical of President-elect Donald Trump’s commitment to their cause, they say they are willing to compromise to maintain influence in his administration. Some groups are strategizing how to end-run Trump’s campaign pledge not to enact any federal abortion bans — by heavily restricting medication abortion or trying to ban a common abortion procedure.

“I don’t think we have a champion here for pro-life causes,” said longtime anti-abortion organizer Rev. Patrick Mahoney. “What we have here is someone who will not work against us and try to crush us. We will not see pro-choice federal judges.”’

For the fascist right it was never about ‘letting the states decide,’ that was and is a lie.

For the fascist right it’s about more government, bigger government at the expense of individual liberty.

For the fascist right it’s about enacting a Federal abortion ban that will jeopardize the health and lives of women everywhere – their hateful authoritarianism is so extreme they’re willing to circumvent a fellow fascist thug like Trump.

Its a "states" issue. No matter how many times you try to put words in Trump's mouth that he has never spoken. But you keep stirring the democrat's pot of lies and see where it gets you. Apparently you didn't learn anything on Nov 5.

Trump won't touch abortion.....Why bother, he does not care about it (nor do I) and SCOTUS did it's job by sending it back to the states. Done and done.

Anyone can see the way it's going in the states that have had the common sense to put it to their citizens......They wanted and voted for the utility of abortion so it's also now a dead issue in those states.

Most people support the utility of abortion. It's just to the degree that they differ.

Indeed, the women voted for the utility of abortion then turned right around and voted for Trump.

The dems lost trying to push "abortion rights" on women as their primary issue so I don't see Trump following their same stupid example by harping for it's elimination.

It's a loser issue all the way around.

Trump was never a champion for the pro-life side of things. He recognized that Roe v Wade was a horrible decision and was happy to lay the groundwork to have it overturned, but beyond that, he said, Leave it up to the voters in the States. And that's where it is. If they want to kill their babies, that's up to them.

Despite the Democrat lies, he never said or contemplated a "national abortion ban."

As much as people on one of the argument or the other may want to agree ... One thing is clear.

The Dobbs decision sent the arguments back to the States and closer to The People.
Likewise ... The politicians in some States became more aware of what their constituents were willing to agree with.

If you only offer The People "all or nothing" ... Most will vote for "all".

In States that chose to be more comprehensive with abortion legislation ...
They had better luck tailoring their legislation and getting it approved by The People.
In States where they attempted a complete and total ban or approval of abortion ...
The legislation did not fare so well and was rejected by The People.

But ... That's why we have the 10th Amendment ... So The People have more say so ...
And according to the Supreme Court decision ... Abortion is none of the Federal Government's business.

The Authoritarian Fascists in that equation ... Are the folks that want to make it a Federal Issue ...
Because they cannot gather enough support for their desires at their Sate and Local levels.

"Yahoo"? Yahoo was part of the big lie about Biden's mental health and supported fake polling data about Harris. Yahoo's editorial opinion is a joke. How long are lefties going to rely on fraudulent propaganda to reinforce their hatred and disappointment over the election?

Sure slick. You can say that anything and everything is a "state issue" All you have to do is to magically make the 14th Amendment disappear . As you may know, the 14th extends the bill of rights, as well as non - enumerated rights established by case law to the states. So no, the states can't trample on the right to privacy on anything else established by the constitution

Only the Supreme Court can incorporate "abortion" rights or limitations as part of the 14th Amendment. It chose not to. Yes, it is a states issue.

Roe is gone, and rightly so. Then we got rid of Chevron.

Now we need a final nail in the coffin Blue States ignoring the 2nd amendment.

And seven more states protected women's right.

Let us know when you find the gun nail.

That's the point of getting rid of Roe.

Right now anger is on the abortion at all times side, and they are using it. It will switch when a State that does so has another Gosnell and he can't be prosecuted because of the permissive laws.

And that abortion nuts anger is waning quicker than you think.

Was Gosnell prosecuted?

Gosnell was ultimately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murders of the three infants, and he received an additional 30 years for federal drug charges related to his illegal distribution of controlled substances. The case sparked widespread outrage and debate over abortion laws and regulations, with many calling for stricter oversight of abortion providers to prevent similar atrocities in the future2.

The Dr. Gosnell case serves as a grim reminder of the potential consequences of inadequate regulation and oversight in the medical field, particularly in areas as sensitive and controversial as abortion. It underscores the importance of ensuring that all medical facilities adhere to strict health and safety standards to protect patients and uphold the integrity of the medical profession.

Where did you copy that from?

Hack.

Which states, and of those how many turned around and voted for Trump after they voted for the utility of abortion?

Abortion on a ballot now is as ho-hum as any other ballot measure you might vote up or down when you fill out your ballot.....Then you move on and vote for whichever hopeful that suits you without even thinking of the ballot measure.....Ballot measures are dead last on Virginia ballots.

Dems ran on abortion and Orange Man Bad and neither made any difference.....All the swing states still went for Trump.

BTW....It has shit-all to do with "protecting women's rights" and all about the utility of abortion.

Marty, what are you bitching about. You have one example who went to jail for life. What more do you want, you goofball.
