A Tea Party Wants Mandatory Christmas Carols In Public Schools

no, you're lying....this initiative does not make the government larger...

btw, how do you like being teabagged?

Except Government's power grows by having them make laws such as these.

Also, the only ones being teabagged are the tea baggers.

I mean really, buying a bunch of tea bags and throwing them in rivers to symbolize wasteful spending is irony indeed.

no it doesn't, it changes the current the law....it does not grow government....you obviously have no clue what it means to grow government....changing a law does not grow government....

if they are teabaggers, then non teabaggers are the one's getting teabagged....it cracks me up that you guys think you're making fun of them, but you're really just calling yourselves the teabagged

The Government changing the law changes things greatly. The current law in place does not ban Christmas Carols.

The fact the tea parties are going around calling themselves tea baggers is a joke in itself. :eusa_whistle:

Hmmm.

I thought the teabaggers were only about smaller government, less spending, etc.

So they lied. Color me surprised.

Teabaggers claim they want less government intrusion... unless it's forcing their values upon others.

thats a lie....this isn't forcing anyone value on anyone....you're the one forcing your values by not allowing them the opportunity....

this isn't intruding on anyone's life....nice try, but completely dishonest....it amazes me how many people hate christmas, a federal holiday that is celebrated or observed nationally....you'll take the day off, but forbid anyone talk about it or sing about it....

you hate freedom

They claim to want less government involvement in their lives.

But the quote by the person behind all of this says it all. Fuck her.

 You do realize by saying over and over to people "You hate free speech, freedom, etc" really makes any legitimate points you do make (not that you make any) lose all value? :eusa_eh:

excellent, then you shouldn't care if the law changes the decision from the admin to the community/students....the only thing changing is the decision makers....you once again prove how little you know as it is clear that this doesn't change the size of government at all....it merely changes the decision makers....

it was hateful liberals that called them teabaggers....i highly doubt tea party folk are calling themselves teabaggers....i've only ever seen liberals saying that, thus admitting that liberals like being teabagged

You agree with the quote and what she proposes?

Yes, it does make any of your points lose all values because you sound like a nut. Though that may not be too far from the truth.

Sorry if it hurts your feelings Yurt, but the constant whining attacks do not fly.

I don't have a inflated opinion of my self worth and authority either. But keep up the delusions.

what quote?

More from Merry Susan Hyatt, the perpetrator of this initiative:

"These kids, they need it," she said. "They need to see that we believe in Jesus, and He is the Prince of Peace. That's why we are the best country on Earth."

gee, can't imagine why anyone would interpret that as trying to use the public schools to impose a particular religion on anyone...

:lol::lol:

Some of the best Christmas songs are religious. I was a chaperon for the best highschool band in Japan and one of their girls sang "Amazing Grace". It was beautifully done and something that an American school wouldn't have allowed.

Don't know how you got "requirement" out of "opportunity".

PS, don't only was this girl NOT a Christian, but she didn't even speak English. She sang in English though, beautifully.

The Attorney General's official title and summary for the measure is as follows: REQUIRES PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO OFFER CHRISTMAS MUSIC. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Requires public schools to offer an opportunity for students to listen to or perform Christ mas music during th e holiday season.

funny how you dishonestly don't highlight the main words....i guess i will honestly highlight "offer" and "opportunity" for you

its only an opportunity, the school is not required to put anything on and is not required to have it apart of the curiculum, if the wants to, it MAY....

Do you think if a school is required to OFFER English classes that it only has to do so if it wants to?

What is wrong with you, exactly? I'm genuinely curious. To deny that something is being required when it SAYS it's being required...jeezus...

...another one these rightwingers in that classic if-I-don't-admit-it's-true-it-can't-be-true mode.

requiring them to offer the opportunity is not the same thing as requiring them to listen to or sing them.

By that logic you could require a school to build a Christian church on campus as long as you didn't force the kids to attend.

jeezus. Mary. and. Joseph.

aren't you claiming that the school is required to have it in curiculum, events, etc....? aren't you also claiming this will require students to participate? if you're only talking about requiring the school to OFFER you the OPPORTUNITY to sing about the federal holiday celebrated nationally, then, yes, that is the requirement, nothing more

i don't agree with her statement....but you do realize that christmas, a federal holiday celebrated or observed nationally, is about the birth of jesus christ? and you want to deny children the opportunity to sing traditional christmas carols about a federal holiday....

you want to deny freedom

not true....that is actually establishing a church you moron....allowing the opportunity to sing about a federal holiday is no where close to the building of a church....

good lord :cuckoo:
