A socialist hell on earth

i am amazed that someone without a job who mooches off his grandmother has the nerve to tell others what a socialist is or isnt....can you say moocher?

why are you against the us having what other civilized countries have? free education and medical care....we supply this to other countries.....ie. israel but cannot supply it to our citiizens

Socialist parties have been doing well in the developed world across wester and central Europe for the last couple of generations without entire countries falling to bits. And third world countries like Venezuela fall apart all the time socialism or not.
There are plenty of sticks to beat Sanders with, so why come up with a comparison that doesnt stand up to even the slightest bit of scrutiny?

Socialism has a way of turning countries into third world counteries

It all exists on a continuum.

Pure socialism is clearly to the left of democratic socialism.
.

I don't see the difference how many people are removing the rights of others. Why is mob rule better than a dictatorship? In many ways, i'ss worse

It's amazing that you cannot see the difference in Bernie's Democratic Socialism, which is similar to countries like Norway and Sweden, versus the near dictatorships of Venezuela and similar countries. SMH

I knew that when I posted this thread. But like I told Slade, Socialism is socialism, regardless of what version it is. The very fact liberals subscribe to any part of it is... depressing. I chose not to make a delineation. Do you really think I'm dumb enough not to know the different types of socialism? You assume too much.

So.... does that mean all "Republicanisms" practiced world-wide are the same?

Like the Islamic Republic and The Republic of N. Korea?

Don't forget that the Republican Party in America was born to prosecute a civil war to ensure that the federal government could dictate to the states.

A German corporation is owned by its stockholders.

A "business" in Cuba is owned by Cuba.

That's the difference.

Everything else exists on a continuum.

It is a Friday night in Venezuela. Five nights ago, the country imploded under the weight of its socialist policies. Riots, and the subsequent violence reigned and fires lit up the pre-dawn sky. The government backed paramilitary, National Police and National Guard set upon various cities across the country, snuffing out dissent, shooting at and in some cases murdering student protesters, carrying out brutal beatings, shooting tear gas into buildings and silencing other protests against its strict censorship of the media and speech wherever they saw it.

This is prime evidence that wherever socialism goes, it leaves death, destruction and chaos in its wake. What makes this even worse is that the world isn't paying any attention. With Syria and the conflict between Russia and The Ukraine dominating the headlines, the violence in Venezuela is being ignored.

Twinkie-boy, Your argument would have validity if Venezuela was a paradise before the "Socialists" got there. It wasn't.

Venezuela has a problem of being a single commodity economy where that commodity is barely selling above the cost to produce it.

I disagree. Have you got any examples?

A better reply would be socialism has a way of holding countries back and keeping them 3rd world countries, you can point to a handful of countries that leftist governments have stimed their progress. I can't think of one that has regressed because of it

Cuba, Greece, Venezuela

3rd world countries...you mean where you cant drink the water....where wealthy make all the decisions to continue their wealth...where health care is lacking...the list goes on and on ....and it applies to the us...

Socialism = Slavery to the state.

Yep and Capitalism = Slavery to money.

No more than breathing is "slavery" to oxygen. Capitalism is economic freedom. Money is just the denomination you work in. Customers, businesses, employers, employees, all make their own best decision. As shitty a decision people often make for themselves, empowering people to make decisions for others is inevitably worse

Lol at liberals saying Bernie is not selling socialism.

Always love it when the American hating Americans who insist it is oh sooooo bad here, promote socialism as though any of them have any real idea what it is to live in those conditions.

Always love it too when these pigs say....."the whole world does it, so we should too!!!"

They love to go to the old......but but but Norway is a great place!!! Yeeeeeah! Bernie means that socialism! Not the one in Venezuela where all of Hollywood seemed to really like.....yeeeah.

Back to Norway. Yeah, doing just great there.

No, Bernie Sanders, Scandinavia is not a socialist utopia - The Boston Globe

No, not really.

Fucking liberals folks

Hey, don't let these people redefine SOCIALISM to make it more palatable by putting DEMOCRATIC in front of it.

If they want to define a country as DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST, then,

1. Show us where the government says that is what they are.

2. After they prove that they are, then lets start comparing what they live in, what they drive, and the price of their goods with the United States.

3. Then lets see what their tax rates are.

These people insisting it is peaches and cream are either naive, or know better and are trying to deceive. Who wants their family living in 800sq feet? Anyone?

I think the main cause of Cuba's "Regression" is that the US has been waging a 60 year economic war on it out of pure spite.

That's fine, but here's what actually happening: While conservatives are screaming "SOCIALISM! SOCIALISM! AAAAUUGGHHH!", liberals are making the case for it. And where are we now?

We've now reached a point where people are looking at government programs many conservatives would call "socialism" - Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and many others - and saying "oh, well, if that's socialism, then I must be for socialism". In other words, the Right has made it easier for the Left to make its case.

If the Right wants to win this argument, it should stop just screaming "SOCIALISM!" -- which is clearly no longer scaring people as it used to -- and make its case for an alternative, for a change. It may be too late for that, anyway.

So you are measuring prosperity by square feet? IT seems to me that if you are working two jobs to put a roof over your head and not spending any quality time with the family, it really doesn't matter how many square feet you have.

Bernies plans are nothing like the type of Socialism instituted in Venezuela. Ditch the pointless labels and look at the policy ideas... If you must use a label then at least use the correct one... The term is "Democratic Socialist"
Yes. Old Bernie is a bit kooky, but he will never get real socialism in America, even if he wanted to. The propaganda against him is promoted by the establishment and designed to benefit the lying criminal in a pant suit.

If the D's take Cankles over him, they are crazy.
