It's too easy! Just rename Obamacare to Trumpcare. So simple!

You're welcome!

Bigly!!!
There is no Republican shutdown. There is, however, a Schumer Shutdown that is ongoing. Perhaps that's the one you meant to talk about.

Hey that might work. :)

All that needs to happen for all the money to start flowing to everybody authorized to get it is for Schumer to stop the filibuster and allow the CR to go on to President Trump's desk.

This is a Democrat shutdown pure and simple. Grandstanding in hopes the GOP will cave as they so often have in the past.

But there's a new Sheriff in town And the GOP seems to have developed a backbone finally. So I am encouraged.

Well of course! Everything is the dems fault!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s not a matter of fault. The Democrats are choosing to modify a clean CR (extending subsidies to Affordable Care) as a condition to opening up the government.

What modifications to the CR are the Republicans proposing?

With Obamacare failing so badly, Trump would like to do Trumpcare. Will Democrats let him?

You missed the point
Progressives have done their part with many social programs over history. President Johnson really did a number on the country as the programs keep growing and faster than the growth of the nation. The deficits since the early 1970's have increased more and more. We lost any control with Covid. And we need to reduce the yearly deficits at least. Trump is attempting to get investments and manufacturing to return to our nation. He is in reality trying to call in any markers we may have. Our currency is the planet's reserve currency at a continuing reduced percentage since the end of WW 2 when it was in the high nineties. At the end of 2024 it was near 58%. We have good living standards on that. There is a difference between a debtor nation and a creditor nation that has power. If we ow money though, it takes a toll even if we live off of other foreign countries and workers.
