No. You're just highlighting priorities. I would rather pay first for a roof over my head, and food. Then lower priority things next until the budget runs out.

The more modern way is to do the new cars, holidays, new shoes etc.. then struggle to keep a roof over their heads and put food on the table.

I worked christmas cause I could not afford 1,000 to go home. If the governments did not tax me 50% I could of went home despite the extreme inflation
