I get called "liberal quite a bit. I'm happy about that. I believe of the two principal political mindsets, liberalism is that clear winner. It's not even close. So I'm happy with the tag.
As you can happily read from my posts here, I have no problem calling BS on what some liberal politicians have done. See Obama's IRS scandal, Finestine's actions during the Kav hearings, Biden's withdraw from Afghanistan. Also I call liberals out on a few things such as nuclear energy and voter registration as well.
What I am, at heart, is an institutionalist. The US built the greatest nation that has ever inhabited the planet. Full stop. We did this by having principled debates and compromises. We seem to be getting away from having any debates and no compromises.
One cornerstone is that the full faith and credit clause; the thing that means you're married in all 50 states, you're divorced in all 50 states, etc... I'm not sure if that clause extends to law enforcement but it should. Warrants from ICE should be honored if the guy or gal they want is still in custody. I don't see any problem with this. There are big issues the Court needs to weigh in on concerning telehealth. The republicans, of course, at one point wanted to prosecute doctors for giving medical advice and writing prescriptions to women in other states. Such FF&C arguments are a gray area the Court needs to sort out. But there doesn't seem to be any ambiguity between someone who is here illegally and ICE deporting them. Thats sort of their job and as long as they do it humanely...there isn't an issue. Shooting people in the streets, breaking down the door to the wrong house, stopping people using unmarked vehicles, pointing guns at people while you're wearing a mask....yeah...thats a big problem.
