The extremes of both parties are FAR more alike than they are with the tenants or convictions of those that stand in the mainstream of their respective parties. To be on the extremes requires adherence to a form of collectivism which is rather ironic for the extreme right IMHO.

Yes, really. As I keep saying, when you vote for someone you are telling them they are doing a good job. You know how Trump is. That's exactly how he interprets every vote for him. There is no way I would send that message to him. I chose to send a "Fuck You!" message.

Both sides pay lip service to their principles. Trump: "I will eliminate the debt in 8 years!" The rubes totally fell for that horseshit coming out of the mouth of the self-proclaimed "King of Debt".

Trump then commenced to doubling the deficit in two years, and adding $7.8 trillion to the debt in four.

And for longstanding reasons I simply cannot bring myself to vote for a Democrat. I just can't do it.

I have voted for one Democrat. Since Bill Buckley has been mentioned, then you will understand. In 1988, Connecticut had a very liberal Republican Senator. Lowell Weicker. We conservatives detested that man.

When Weicker came up for re-election, Bill Buckley asked all of us conservative Republicans in CT to vote for the moderate Democrat. So we did and the Democrat won.

That Democrat was...Joe Lieberman.

The voters of Connecticut didn't learn from any of this. They turned around the next election and selected Lowell Weicker as governor. He then proceeded to institute the first state sales tax in our history.

The solution to the "lesser of two evils" problem is that everyone needs to go to the primaries and vote!

The Two Evils™ are chosen long, long before Election Day.

The maniacs, retards, psychos, and wackjobs out there don't make up the majority of Americans, but they are very energetic and turn up to vote in primaries out of proportion to their demographic. Just look how fanatical Trump supporters are, and that asshole never had more than about 30 percent of support among Republicans during the primaries.

Only 28.5% of eligible voters voted in the 2016 primaries. That's pathetic.

If you want to solve the "lesser of two evils problem" you have to solve the primary voter turnout problem.

Also, you have to empty the fucking clown car of the 19 primary candidates. And that means the party bosses need to take the inevitable losers aside and kick them in the nuts and end their campaigns for the good of the country.

Most of those assholes knew they didn't have a chance. It was a fucking ego trip for them.

70 percent of Republicans opposed Trump in the primaries. But their votes were divided among the other 18 assholes. This needs to stop.
