A Politcal model for US Gun Control

YES! You are correct. Australia is the model for US gun control. First they wanted everyone to register their guns. Then they increased the cost and difficulty of buying and owning guns. Then they confiscated them from lawful gun owners. Then the crime rate went up dramatically as law abiding citizens were disarmed.

Yep, that is the model the US wants to follow. Fortunately people woke up and learned a lesson from Australia and we stomped that sucker flat.

Just an FYI the University of Melbourne did a study and in fact released a paper which states that the buyback had no significant effect on firearm suicide or homicide rates:

This paper takes a closer look at the effects of the National Firearms Agreement
on gun deaths. Using a battery of structural break tests, there is little evidence to suggest
that it had any significant effects on firearm homicides and suicides. In addition, there
also does not appear to be any substitution effects – that reduced access to firearms may
have led those bent on committing homicide or suicide to use alternative methods.

why is jim so concerned with people with guns? Is he afraid someone's going to shoot him?

How many times will people throw this same hunk of shit at the wall and see if it sticks?

There has to be at least 20 threads on this very subject, and each one goes down in the flames of reality that their "model", was an epic fail.

If you want gun control beyond what is already available, get the constitution amended. Best of luck.

It is only a matter of time. There will be better gun registration and there will be restrictions on certain types of guns. The NRA Hacks in Congress will be learning a lesson soon. It would be easier to see and accept what is reasonable than to bury your head in the sand....again.

Gun control hacks have been pushing this crap for over 30 years. It happened under Clinton and it was a disaster. It didnt happen this time. It won't happen 5 years down the road. It wont happen in my lifetime.

he is afraid of the guy down the street who will never shoot him.....but can care less about the real gun nutters, the gang bangers who would shoot him just for looking at them wrong.....of course they are black and brown.....

The liberal butt hurt over their losing war on guns is incredible.

Define "Reasonable"

At one time the "Shall not be infringed" meant exactly that. A person could own what ever type of firearm they wanted, up to and including Cannons and Gatlin Guns ( The automatic weapon of it's day)

Then in 1842 it was "reasonable" to ban everyone except Whites from owning guns.

Then it was "reasonable" to ban automatic weapons.

Then it was "reasonable" to require ID to buy one.

Then it was "reasonable" to have a background check.

Then it was "reasonable" to have to wait three days.

Then it was "reasonable" to get a license.

Every new law is "reasonable" when looked at the current situation.. But looking at the long run, we stopped with the "reasonable" restrictions long ago and the now the Democrats are working towards their goal of banning all weapons.

It's time to stop being "reasonable" with the gun grabbers and tell them "No More". We are done. You are done.
