A Pleasant Summer Day

Sorry to interrupt all the panic, hate, and anger but I just wanted to note that yesterday was a pleasant summer day. I took my boys to a large outdoor venue in NH with a bunch of food trucks (and beer trucks!), live music, kayaking, volleyball, and outdoor seating with fire pits and a lot of friendly people. The weather was nice so we hung out, had some tacos and shot the shit about nothing important. At an adjacent indoor market I got the boys some ice cream before heading toward home. Stopped at their grandparents on the way back and caught part of the Sox game with their grandpa and one of their uncles.

So no crucial global news, just one small positive experience in one small dot in the world. I hope at least a few other people had a good day. It's important to remember that out in the real world it's not all tooth-gnashing and "your side sucks!" bug-eyed hatred.
