In the public areas of the base where both have to conduct themselves in a decent manor (i.e. stores, exchanges, resteraunts, bowling allies etc.), where they go about normal life on their own as do the men then Ok. That is no different than being in the public anywhere else. The training, quarters, mess halls, and such should be separate. Working together in jobs after the training ok. Where are the main problems steming from in all of this ?

They can do inspections all they want, but there are WAY too many places to hide stuff on a ship. And then there is the fact that like minded groups will get together to share various interests.

Good order and discipline starts at the top dude. I know I was responsible for the actions of EVERYONE in my shop when I ran the MEPS at Amarillo. If they screwed up, I also caught an ass chewing because I was the leader.

And, if they would simply do investigations when charges are brought up against someone rather than hiding them in the good old boy network, there would be a reduction in incidents. One of the reasons it is happening today is the low incidence of investigations and the people who do it know there is a very little chance of being held accountable.

You don't need to change the military, just change the attitudes of the old war horses that are still there and tell them to accept that women are serving alongside men and to get over it.

I mean.................really.....................how often do you hear of this happening in a corporation or business? Not very often, because not only is there training for sexual harassment, but businesses know they need to take those matters seriously when they happen.
