A growing trend in Trump's Base

I have been talking about this right along. Prior to the November election I pointed out the grocery prices will probably the most potent issue in the entire electoral spectrum. That turned out to be true. Along with cost of living in general it's pretty much what sunk the Democrats on election Day.

I have also said that unless Trump pays attention to this issue it will sink him. Now we have some real evidence that it's worth paying attention to.

This morning I listen to a strictly conservative talk radio show that is basically composed about 99% of trump supporters. In a poll given this morning pertaining to the Middle East peace deal almost 35% of trump supporters feel as though the president is paying too much attention to foreign affairs and not enough to domestic ones.

Leading among those complaints was cost of living.

An interesting comment by a three-time Trump voter:

"I'm glad that progress is being made in the Middle East war situation. However when I jumped on board this train it was for America first. Right now my expenses and my finances don't feel like America first. I didn't vote for peace in the Middle East or peace in Ukraine.... I voted for a better life and right now my life sucks."

This comment was selected as a lead comment from about 35% of those polled who felt the same way.

Worth noting I think.

This was a bad time for me to be forced into retirement. I'm feeling the pinches, I won't lie.

DOGE had me excited for a minute (cut government waste is the responsible thing to do)

If only Trump would focus on DOGE efforts and lowering energy costs (drill baby drill). . . he could get things turned around again.

I guess I'm not one of the 35%--probably rinos anyway. My life is noticeably better in the past nine months after four years of democrat anti American sedition. My investments are doing GREAT. Inflation is flat in spite of the democrats' attempts to bring pain and equity to the population. My biggest complaint is a result of the war on fossil fuels keeping fuel prices artificially high because of democrat cap and trade carbon taxes and increases in other state taxes to cover their fiscal incompetence. I hope this might shed some light on the fallacy of this OP. And none of this even touches on the foreign policy victories this weekend.

All being retired means is that you get your 401k rolled into your IRA, and you take out what you need.
Find a good investment bank and let them invest your IRA, you'll be fine, until the bull market ends anyway.
If you are 65 or older you get Social Security & Medicare, if you are younger than 62 it sucks to pay for health insurance.
If you are younger than 62 it sucks because you don't get SS.
I retired for 2-years and then had an "encore career".

Gas is under $3 a gallon here. It won't go much lower.

A vote based on ignorance can produce a negative result.....as the nation now knows all too well.
Something ^^^ you were told prior to you and the democrats saddling us with the last incompetent admin that is responsible for the negatives that you are whining about. I am glad you recognize your ignorance---please do something about it.

I don't have enough in my IRA to amount to much of an investment. Not even enough to provide 1K a month, retirement income to supplement my SS. We do have savings but it's dropping fast. (my own fault) Most of my net worth is tied up in home equity. We are way better off than many people I know. We are not going to starve.

I just hate the spend down with no real income coming in. My wife is disabled, and I can't leave her at home to have that "encore career", as much as I would like to.

That's tough. We would have a tough time too. I'm not a financial planner, but.
If the money is dropping that is not sustainable.
You need a babysitter for your wife so you can get a new job.
Any kids or relatives to help out?
Can you rent out a room for cash?
Can you do a "reverse mortgage" to get cash?
Can you find a job to work from home?

Trumps middle class and senior tax cuts along with wage increases has increased spending power more then inflation. Energy costs are also dropping.
I have not gotten a wage increase during Trump's presidency..

The idea that Biden was responsible for the post COVID, GLOBAL, supply chain driven spike in inflation has always been a steaming pile. (newsflash, he wasn't responsible for the GLOBAL spike in oil prices following Putin's invasion of Ukraine either)

Just like the notion a moron like trump, who wanted inflationary interest rate cuts months ago, had a clue on how, or the ability to, reduce inflation from its already moderated level when he took office, was also a steaming pile.

The gullible among us are now scratching their heads in bewilderment over why didn't follow thru on his promise.

I get that the prez is often blamed for things over which he has little to no control.......as Biden (and Harris by association) was. It's an unfortunate part of human nature. But we shouldn't gloss over the fact it is a consequence of ignorance. A vote based on ignorance can produce a negative result.....as the nation now knows all too well.

All of that is being looked at.

Imagine being forced into all of it by medical necessity.

Do try to keep up or take notes.

What about it?
Working from home would be my dream solution but I have no idea on how to make it happen, or than piece meal repair work (electronics) that would barely pay for itself.

I'm watching to see what wedge issue the POT will create in the upcoming midterms. The anti-gay, anti-woke, anti-immigrant, anti-vaccine, anti-healthcare, anti-climate change, anti-education, anti-(fictitious) deep state campaigns may have exhausted themselves.

Leftism has exhausted rational Americans. They don’t like you or your policies.
