Well, I can tell you that this is a better situation than being married to a woman who has a violent temper, is addicted to gambling and violently assaults you, sometimes even with a weapon.

In Canada, we have a Security Industrial Complex which controls the country. America after 9/11 I fear copied some of our methods. It has clearly hurt your nation competitively (we've been competitively behind for many decades) though you had such a head start to other nations that you only really lost ground (alot of ground) to China. This will change if you turn your back on liberty.

You can still recover but it won't be due to a larger police presence in the lives of good citizens I assure you.

Women often get married for financial stability and they know that they control the situation as the threat of divorce keeps the man emasculated and in the marriage.
