The last thing we need is to have people get to retirement age and have nothing. I think SS is good, but they need to find a way to make it more secure. I think you should have the option to opt out and if you do, you're on your own to invest your money.

They need to stabilize it though, maybe they can grow the trust fund using whatever magic it is they use to make themselves all millionaires, on government salaries. That would secure the trust fund forever.

If there is a pot of money in DC it will disappear. They'll find a way to get to it. Just let US have ALL the money we make. As Musk is finding, there are billions being essentially wasted right now. The Treasury system is used to pay the money already allocated by Congress....PERIOD.

There is only one reason Musk wants access to this system.....to end government payments. And that includes Americans' social security payments, medicare payments, and Federal retirement payments.
