Rumor has it that earlier today more than a few groups of Druze civilians/boarderguards try to block with their bodies the Muslim worshipers.

Two Druze officers murdered at the scene: Two police officers were murdered on Friday morning in a shooting attack on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, and an additional officer was lightly wounded.

The officers have been identified as Command Sergeant Major Hayil Satawi and Command Sergeant Major Kamil Shanaan.

Satawi, 30, lives in the northern town of Maghar, served his mandatory service in the Border Police and became a career patrol officer in the Temple Mount Unit. He left behind his wife (Arin) and a three-week-old son, as well as his parents and three siblings.

Shanaan, 22, lives in the northern town of Hurfeish, and has served as a career police officer since his enlistment seven months ago as a patrol officer on the Temple Mount and in the Old City's police unit. He is the son of former Labor party member Shachiv Shanaan. He left behind one brother and three sisters.

Both officers were critically injured and transferred to Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus, where the doctors were forced to declare their deaths. The officer who was lightly injured was transferred to Shaarei Zedek Hospital, with shrapnel in his hands and neck.

While there are those who worship bloodshed and defiling of holy place, there are also those trying to achive peace and quiet.

One of them, is called Ali Salam. He is the mayor of the city of Nazereth.

Earlier today, he published a letter condamning the attack and calling for peace.

Naturally, if being published by any other Arab leader, Israelis would have rolled their eyes or responded sarcastically, as we know that in many situations the Arab leader condemn terrorism in Hebrew and English, but infact bless it in their heats and language.

Ali Salam is not one of those. Months ago, when the escalation of stabbing attacks and car ramming attacks was common, Anti-Zionism minister Aymen Huda came to Nazereth to make an interview and was, typically, blaming the Jews in every wrong doing in the area. Surprisingly, there appeared Ali Salam, and gave him a peace of his mind, telling him to "Get out of his town" and that he and the Arab parties and politics are trying to hijack the good connection between Nazereth and its Jewish neighbors. Aymen Huda was left embarrased and Ali Salam was well respected by Israel ever since.



Today he published a letter-

"Shalom Rav,

The terror attack and slaughter that accured today in Jerusalem.

Is not the way of Islam and not the way the Arab public in Israel behaves.

The Arab residents of Israel are loyal to it, obey its laws, as well as stand fully against the usage of violence or terrorism. It has no justification.

This can be very well shown in the Arab councils calls in the Arab sector.

Today we approached the minister of interior, Mr. Aryeh Der'i, and condemned the attack, as well as expressed our condolences to the Israeli government.

Being the meyor of Nazereth, "The largest Arab city of Israel", I condemn and horrified by the act, this is not the way of the Arab sector of Israel.

We will do our best to make sure it won't happen again, and fight for coexistence between people.

Peace among nation is achieved by dialogue, not bloodshed, and I reach my hand and support each step that contributes to peace making in our land.
