Yeah, there has to be some of that. But at the same time, I have several Trumpster clients, and you can see the absolute fear and rage when get start talking about it. It definitely SEEMS real for many of them, like children and pro wrestling.
I've spent the last six years trying to fully understand this part of it, and I'm still not sure on this one.

I have family members, that I dearly love, that were seriously entrenched in trumpism. I know of one that has moved to little desantis. But since I cannot talk to them about the orange POS, I have no idea if the others are still enamored with trump world.
I compare what is going on with trump to what happened to Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. I realized that Clinton lied, but I was younger then and did not keep up with politics that much. The hearings, the media accounts, and the Impeachment were all just white noise to me.
But we cannot compare Nixon or Clinton to what trump tried to do. Nixon lied and was party of a two bit coverup of a break in. Clinton lied about a sexual encounter with a naivete intern. trump, on the other hand, led and directed an effort to bring down the electoral system of our country, thereby destroying our democratic republic. I gotta think Poootin was somewhere urging him on. Not sure if we will even know the truth.
What is so frustrating is that we are approaching two years after the failed coup and the only people who have been prosecuted are the poor fools who stormed the US Capitol. The planners, the funders, the instigators walk free and proudly, I might add. My Heavens! WHAT IS MERRICK GARLAND DOING. These people, like Bannon and trump, are still plotting and scheming to take the entire country down and the DOJ appears to be sitting on their hands.
So, Nixon and Clinton do not even come close to the treachery and treason that trump and his associates inflicted on this country. One of these days, maybe sooner than later, I am going to blow up and tell all the trumpsters in my life what I think of him. Hey, I am old, I can get away with occasional outbursts.

Christie also wrote in his memoir that Trump's speech made him "physically sick," but he didn't rule out supporting Trump if he runs again in 2024.
But, you know what? These people that stated how dangerous trump is and how he is not fit for office. They also said they would vote for him again. My Heavens...what is wrong with them?
The fun part is going to come when desantis defeats trump in the primaries leading up the 2024. How is trump going to handle another loss? Will he run third party? Will he torpedo desantis and the repub party.
I am pulling for all of the above.
But, who really knows. I do know that trump will never take the VP nomination. And I also feel strongly that if the economy improves, trump will lose if he is at the top of the ticket. I do not think desantis is interested in running with trump as the VP nominee. I could be wrong, but I think he know trump is a liability now.
The Dems have a good chance of holding onto the Senate in November. Many of the far right trump anointed repub nominees are losing and are too extreme for even red states. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.
