I'm posting this in the Politics section because it so eerily describes our current political climate. I was watching a 1961 movie last night, and a moment in the movie absolutely blew my mind.

At a key moment in the movie (at 2:18:00), a judge (played by Burt Lancaster) who is on trial describes a dark time in the country's history:

There was a fever over the land. A fever of disgrace, of indignity, of hunger. We had a democracy, yes. But it was torn by elements within. Above all, there was fear. Fear of today, fear of tomorrow. Fear of our neighbors, and fear of ourselves. Only when you understand that, can you understand what (he) meant to us. Because he said to us, "lift your heads, be proud to be (who you are). There are devils among us -- communists, liberals, jews, gypsies. Once these devils will be destroyed, your misery will be destroyed". It was the old, old story of the sacrificial lamb.

What about those of us who knew better? We who knew the words were lies, and worse than lies? Why did we sit silent? Why did we take part? Because we loved our country. What difference does it make if a few political extremists lose their rights? What difference does it make if a few racial minorities lose their rights? It is only a passing phase! It is only a stage we're going through! It will be discarded sooner or later! The leader himself will be discarded sooner or later!

The country is in danger. We will march out of the shadows. We will go forward! And history tells us how well we succeeded, your honor.

Pretty amazing. The scene is from Judgment at Nuremberg, 1961.

Problem is that Nuremberg was a show case trial and 100% Fake .

You can immediately see exactly why it was a complete farce when you have read this 2021 Miles Mathis paper .
Usual deep research and scholarly high standard .

No wonder the CIA and Deep State detest him but cannot shut him up .
He is a one man Wikileaks but turbo charged .

An extraordinary man whose other talents as artist and theoretical scientist put him above Einstein ( whom he destroys) and Newton .

8/14/21,
The Nuremberg Trials were Faked.

You've finally, completely lost your mind.
Like, it's not pretty. I'm not happy about it.

Being a full-grown man, watching a movie about HITLER and thinking, yeah, this is just like Trump.....

I would ask how you got here but it makes me squeamish to think about it. Like peeling back a bandage over festering gangrene. I don't really want to know.

Breathe some air.

Touch some grass.

Listen to some good music.

Have a glass of wine.

something, dude
Mac, you utter doofus.

Who "LOST THEIR RIGHTS" under the Trump presidency? The only ones I can think of are a few pregnant mothers, to get an abortion in their state. IOW to kill their own babies in their own bellies.

THAT is Hitler to you?
Look at that meltdown.

It's a movie quote.

It was an excellent movie. Though I'm not sure it refers to much today except when people gaslight and pretend that 2+2 doesn't equal four.

Some people wish to pursue a centralized model, which is what lead to so many atrocities in the 1940s, from Germany to Russia. Under such a model one can never question a narrative, they have to mirror it, or else.

The evil behind such a system will damn their soul. That doesn't help those who have to live through here on earth though.

You have chosen to become more and more like Ontario. Come and see how close we are to collapse and ask yourself, "why are people sneaking into America from Canada, if Canada is supposed to be so much like the U.S?"

We aren't like the U.S and we dont share your values of civil liberties and accountable government, that's why they are trying to escape to the U.S.

It's admirable that you're trying to type out sense to someone who has chosen delusion and insanity. I mean that--I was there once too.

Now you just have to hit them over the head with how insane they are, it's the only way.

That's not the Nazis
That was the trans genocide under the Trump administration

I think it's top of the list for project 2025
Restart trans genocide

I don'think he mentioned Trump, that is your distillation. The passage tries to explain how a nation can be manipulated by desperation and hopelessness into doing things that were previously unthinkable, and making it seem right. Germany was broken economically and spiritually after WW1 and the treaty of Versailles, and Hitler promised the hopeless people hope, and they willingly followed him down the hoot owl trail waving the flag. If Hitler wasn't there they would have followed someone else of invented him (or her). I think this just sailed over your head, as it does a lot of people today, trying to make every issue for or about Trump, the important details get lost in the rhetoric.

Right. He meant Kamala Harris

Nice to see that someone can be calm and get it.

Trump is not Hitler. Obviously. But at the same time, as the saying goes, history doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme.

An example of the saying "history doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme", can come from General Mark Milley:

Trump ain't Hitler. But damn, that part of the movie really described what can happen. I just never thought it would happen HERE.

This is not about the individual. It never is. It's about those who enable him.

We deserve what we get.

One thing is certain: A pretty large swath of this country is actively choosing to ignore history. The voices they trust have made them so desperate and mal-informed that they actually think an authoritarian strongman is the only answer. The world has seen this before.

When we congratulate ourselves for bringing "justice" to a few useless Nazis in a dog and pony show trial, which was appropriate, also think about the thousands of Nazis that we secreted here in Operation Paperclip. We expunged their military records and put them to work on building rockets (weapons) for us too. Also, the recruitment of Reinhart Gehlen, Hitler's spy chief by the CIA to wage war on Russia, which continues to this day. We may have become the monster that we were fighting. Life is not as black or white as some would have you believe. The CIA and Nazi War Criminals

He's your Hitler, Mac, because you don't like him and he hurt your feelings.

But you're fine, sure. It's US with the problem
