Yes, people who used to have good full-time jobs found themselves with crappy part time jobs and the libs call it success.
While a lot of Americans were unemployed when Obama took office, the numbers actually increased. The truth is that millions no longer count in the UE numbers because they can no longer collect unemployment and many gave up. 18.09% more people are not working now compared to 2009. And many, many more are on welfare, some who ended up with lower paying jobs and some who gave up completely.
Many more are on disability since there seems to be an epidemic of fibromyalgia, something that can't be proven one way or the other. Used to be back problems that got people disability but now they can detect that and there are more options to fix it. I know some people who used to claim back injuries when trying to get disability but now their back problems are gone and they all suffer from the mysterious disease. Check out the commercials for meds that these people are on. They say that fibromyalgia is 'believed to be overactive nerves' (they don't have a clue) and that the meds are 'believed to calm the nerves.' In other words, people are complaining because they want that disability check and doctors can't find anything wrong with them. Rule is that if people keep complaining, you have to take them seriously. And give them pain meds and recommend that they are candidates for disability. The tax payers' burden gets a little heavier each day.
Many who are working are not doing as well as they were because they had no choice but to take a lesser job. So many small businesses bit the dust and many larger companies reduced their work force, many thanks to Obamacare and overregulation. Lost count of how many left the country to tax friendlier countries, not to mention paying lower wages.
Record 95,102,000 Americans Not in Labor Force; Number Grew 18% Since Obama Took Office in 2009
"Barack Obama's presidency began with a record number of Americans not in the labor force, and it's ending the same way.
The final jobs report of the Obama presidency, released Friday, shows that the number of Americans not in the labor force has increased by 14,573,000 (18.09 percent) since January 2009, when Obama took office, continuing a long-term trend that began well before Obama was sworn in.
In December, according to the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, a record 95,102,000 Americans were not in the labor force, 47,000 more than in November; and the labor force participation rate was 62.7 percent, a tenth of a point higher than in November.
The participation rate dropped to a 38-year low of 62.4 percent on Obama's watch, in September 2015. It was only 3-tenths of a point higher than that last month."
