8th Grader arrested and suspended for wearing NRA T-Shirt to school

If the student was told to cease and desist, and the student refused, the crime of public disorder has occurred. The arrival of the police prevented the student assaulting the teacher and being beaten down as a result.

We know nothing of the dispute or the confrontation. For all we know, the teacher demanded that the boy remove his shirt and the boy declined. Now you may say that was a crime of "public disorder" but lets change the facts just a tad.. The boy and the teacher were alone in the classroom and the teacher demanded that the boy remove his shirt while the teacher was unzipping his pants.

Hmm changes everything quite a bit and I would want the teacher arrested.

But rather than jumping to conclusions, I will await further clarification and information.

I actually feel sorry for this kid. His parents most likely are gun nuts and he is in training to be one too.

If a student is told to do or not do something, and if that order does not jeopardize his welfare physically, he better do it, or else. He can argue later.

Most students in public schools and universities are in training to be socialist idiots like your hero obamaturd who can't even prove his education or citizenship. Libtard fools.

Unsurprisingly, the OP is a liar.

Again, this seems congenital among the right.

…the student is facing charges which include obstruction and disturbing the education process.

He was not arrested for wearing the T-shirt, nor for the the shirt’s message.

Actually we do not know that either....obstruction and disturbing the education process may consist entirely of wearing the T-Shirt. Unless and until we know more facts, such as a police report, I will not jump to conclusions one way or another.

I wonder if the school allows those pro-gay T-Shirts?

Gays aren't shooting people.

A 13-14 y/o has no business getting into a physical altercation with a teacher who had no way of knowing if he had a gun in his backpack. Remember - gun nutters have sent guns to school with their minor children.

The school was right to protect ALL students.

Please show us the evidence of what you say. I laughed as I typed that.

If a student refuses to follow a teacher's instruction, and that resistance becomes vocal, yes, call the police.

In other words, public schools are for Authoritarian indoctrination?

Students are not in charge at a public school, any more than you would be as a parent, for instance.

We were having a Parents night at school while the school board was having a meeting. The HS principal walked in and said he had a parent who supposedly told a teacher that if he ever touched her child in discipline that she would kill him. Principal asked for advice.

I called told the Superintendent to call the police and have her arrested for a terroristic threat. She was handcuffed and led out in front of several hundred people. The magistrate put her under an insurance bond the next day after a night in jail. Never had any more problems like that.

In other words, you right wing reactionary freaks are subject to law and order as are the rest of us in a We the People constitutional republic.

Please take your Sovereign Citizen movement and shove it up your ass.

Try it at your school and see what happens. Once the police arrive, I advise you to not make any sudden movements.

What is ignored here is that the NRA does advocate violence.

A shirt that says NRA on it advocates violence and doesn't belong in school but it sounds like the kid got into some sort of altercation with the teacher. A kid that age can be the size of an adult. Teacher was right, parent is wrong.

Nope. If the teacher did not like the shirt, too fucking bad. The teacher was wrong.

So, when your children won't do what you tell them to do, you have them arrested?

Following the illogic of the people supporting the teacher in this topic, a teacher can demand a student remove an Obama T-shirt just because the teacher disagrees with his politics.

The contrary of that, then, bripat, would be that you would approve of the teacher beating the student?

The difference is that the one happened in a tax-supported public institution sanctioned and governed by the laws of the land.

Your hypothetical is parent-child relations in the home. Different game, different rules.

One of my daughters did require a serious intervention of awareness training: straighten up or a six-month no-furlough internment at a psychiatric hospital for teenagers who just don't get that they are not in charge. Bright child: she got it. That was almost twenty years ago. She and her little ones are going with me to the petting zoo on Saturday.

Number one, I wouldn't threaten anyone in public and number 2, I have serious doubts that a school superintendent would act on your advise, of even consider you credible enough to take your call.

A terrorist threat? Really Fake! You really should find a reliable laxative. You're full of it.
