Why did the Democrats feel the need to make a big deal out of stating the patently obvious?

It could be that Democrats think Trump is crazy for asking before he became president why the military couldn’t simply just shoot people on the legs during a protest. The George Floyd protests. Or they may think that because Trump broke international law by striking those boats off Venezuela, he could continue to do that in US cities.

Or they could just simply think Trump is crazy because of these and many other reasons. So they are wary of him. They are not required to give you a list of unlawful things that he has already asked the military to do.
