Trump "finally" talked a strong game against Putin, criticizing Putin's continuing attacks on Ukrainian's innocent people and lack of desire to have peace talks. Trump stated:

and he followed that up by stating that he would:

Trump threatens tariffs targeting Russia without deal to end Ukraine war in 50 days

That all sounds great BUT.....................50 day "grace" period?

To begin with (which we all know), he promised to end the war in 24 hours...............that did not happen. Then on February 12th (4 months ago) he started urging Putin to come to the table to have peace talks.............that did not happen. In the meantime, he has stated that it is Zelensky that is being unreasonable and threatening him to withdraw our support..................Zelensky in return, signed a rare earth deal that would give us natural ore in return for support.......................that did happen.

Then Hegseth made a decision to not send arms to Ukraine and Trump pooh-poohed that decision.

and now, this war has another 50 days to continue without any action on our part?

and here is reality:

The number of civilian casualties (killed and injured) reportedly almost doubled in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the first.

AI Overview

Casualties in the Russia-Ukraine war (past 4 months)
  • June 2025: 232 people killed.
  • May 2025: 183 civilians killed.
  • April 2025: 209 civilians killed.
So now Putin has the ability to kill another 400+ innocent civilians before he is due to face sanctions against him?

Is a 50-day grace period justified after seeing all the facts stated above?

MORE FAKE NEWS FROM MUCKY
Complaining about non targeted civilian casualties in a war .

Any excuse for irrelevant facts unrelated to any of the main factors under-pinning this conflict .

And of course our un-American OP has no sane ideas how to reduce claimed civilian casualties or change the war's now inevitable course .

It's a grace period that everybody will forget about in less than 50 days.

It's Trump coming to the realization that America no longer has the potency it needs t9 negatively effect Russia.

Not economically or militarily!

Giving them ample time to bomb and kill as many in Ukraine. ******* words mean nothing as it's actions that count.

Send the Ukrainians a whole lotta shit.
Yeah. I give Trump credit for doing what he can to end this, but he has to get it through his skull that Putin is not going to do it volunarily.

The Patriots will be great, and I guess Ukraine is getting some offensive goodies, too. While Putin bombs children and pregnant women, Ukraine is destroying his military infrastructure. Fuckin' perfect.

Its not a sanction. Its Trump's excuse to throw up his hands after 50 days and say "I tried. I'm out."

Trump's real threat to Putin are the tariffs he's threatening to impose on anyone who buys Russian oil. That would be China, India and Brazil primarily. Unlike Slow Joe, Trump understands that Putin can't continue his war without the financing to do so by selling oil and natural gas to other countries. Trump doesn't want to escalate the conflict. He wants to end it. He'll provide Ukraine with more weapons but only as a last resort. That's actually the intelligent way to approach this. But you'll never admit that...even if it works...will you, Lucky?

He's giving Ukraine arms. What else is it you want Trump to do?
