Tax expenditures add to the deficit. One of the many tax expenditures Reagan eliminated was the interest rate deduction on car loans.

Eliminating tax expenditures allowed Reagan to lower tax rates on everyone.

Every tax expenditure has to be balanced by both higher tax rates on everyone and higher borrowing from the CCP and others.

Trump will probably tell his cult he invented the interest rate deduction on car loans. As if that's a good thing.
