Apparently the world doesn't work like it does in Minecraft.

"Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood stayed true to his promise and greeted 38-year-old Richard Golden when he arrived at the airport in Florida. Golden was arrested at his mother’s home in New Jersey under accusations that he threatened Chitwood’s life on a 4Chan forum. “That’s what we’re supposed to be afraid of,” Chitwood said while explaining why his department and others are cracking down on online threats, offering this “keyboard commando” as an example."

Keep an eye on this. I'm predicting charges are dropped or he pleads to something minor. Even when a person actually wants to kill someone you need more than a simple statement.

He was unable to actually harm the officer from New Jersey. Now if had actually engaged with someone to do something, then he could spend a long time in jail.

Direct threats of physical harm have never been considered "free speech".

The threat has to be real. You can call someone and say "I'm going to beat you" and there isn't much that can be done.

Now if you are on their porch and say it, that becomes a different thing.

Proposing that a bullet be put in the head of an LE officer isn't anywhere in the same category as saying you're going to beat someone who's on the other side of the country.

The man could do not harm from New Jersey. He will plead to something minor.
