411 pound Feral Hog caught in San Antonio.

These huge destructive hogs are spreading. Soon they will be all over the lower 48. Time to declare a bounty on these big piggies and put those AR-15s to good use.

Feral Pigs?

Man, you gun nuts are desperate and scared the rest of us are getting sick of your nonsense.

Joe is scared because he looks like a feral pig. Oink oink

Shoot them all you like, but they will never be gone. Texans complain about feral hogs, but they don't do anything to get rid of them. Hogs, (which the hogs here are nothing but domestic stock that are released on purpose) are big money for landowners. So basically, $5,000 bucks to kill hogs from a helicopter for two hours. These "ranchers" and "land owners" deserve the destruction they ***** about. That said, I shoot at leas 3 to 5 hogs every weekend usually.

I killed em constantly at my place in Junction Tx on the S. Llano river.
They kept undermining the concrete bridge abutments on the bridge that crossed the creek and generally tearing shit up.

I'd pick em up with the front end loader and dump em over the fence on to the county easement on 377.

Man did it make a racket when they mowed in the spring!!!
Eww yuk!

Do you kill them for sport or the meat or both? Or do people hire you to kill them? I'm curious, we just have Javelina in Arizona I've never seen feral hogs.

I just kill em on first sight.
Things are a fuken menace!
Oh for real. Do you think if there was a "bounty" on them that could potentially stop the spread of them?

So I'm reading about this and it looks like there is a potential market for wild hog meat. Isn't this a win win? Get rid of the hogs and generate money from the meat?

Like I said.
It's too expensive to process due to the sanitation issues with pork.
And if you want to eat a feral pig it really needs to be a yearling shot in early summer.

I once worked with a guy who hunted these hogs for sport. After returning from a week off of hunting, he was excited to show us a vid of him leaping from a tree and killing a large hog with a knife.
While we could understand the importance of eradicating these pests, that vid confirmed what we all thought about him being a little crazy.

And that's good eating. The last pig I shot was with a 9mm. No blood and it didn't leave a trail really. It couldent make any real noise as I had punctured it's lungs. It was the smell that led me to it. Just nasty disgusting things.

I can imagine, we have Javelina that can be a nuisance and they are nowhere near as big as those hogs.
