The attack happened Wednesday night outside a restaurant as people were leaving an album-release party for Chicago rapper Mello Buckzz. Another mass shooting happened at a club that operated from the same address in 2022.

At least four people were killed and 14 others wounded in a drive-by mass shooting outside a nightclub in Chicago's River North neighborhood on Wednesday night, police said.


Around 11 p.m., Chicago police said a dark vehicle drove past the Artis Lounge nightclub in the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue. Police said shots were fired from inside the car into a crowd of people standing outside.

It appears the crowd was leaving the nightclub following an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz.

Chicago police confirmed four people died, including two men, 24 and 25 years old and two women.

The victims injured in the shooting range in age from 21 to 32 years old. At least four people were listed in critical to serious condition at local hospitals.

City officials confirmed there were multiple shooters.

Rapper Mello Buckzz released a statement on social media saying in part, "Prayers up for all my sisters god please wrap yo arms around every last one of them." She then went on to say, "Feel like everything just weighing down on me...all I can do is talk to god and pray."

No arrests have been made.

It's a tradition amongst Chicago gangs to use the explosions on the 4th to mask the sound of gunfire.

It would be seen as racist to report about it. Doesnt matter how many lives were affected. You need to report on WHite crime happening first and formost, because as I've been told around here its the most prevelant.
