A discovery from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has revealed that $4.7 trillion in Treasury payments remain unidentified and untraceable. Sens. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Roger Marshall (R-KS) are aiming to solve the issue by introducing the Locating Every Disbursement in Government Expenditure Records (LEDGER) Act. The proposed law mandates the U.S. Treasury to implement a traceable system for federal spending.
The LEDGER Act would require Treasury to assign codes to all payments, creating transparency similar to private banking systems. Marshall has noted that over $1 trillion in interest payments occurred in 2024, citing severe fiscal mismanagement. Scott has called for applying the same discipline households and businesses adopt to monitor spending.
Scott said, “Like many Americans, I was outraged by DOGE’s findings. The U.S. Treasury made $4.7 trillion in payments that were completely unmarked, unlabeled and therefore untraceable and unaccountable to the American people.”

Comment:
Do other countries allow their governments to make untraceable payments?
Is this how politicians become multimillionaire while they serve the public?
Is climate change spending just a trillion dollar grift?

The politicians have ripped off Anericans destroying our lives. Even if your life is fine you have no idea how much better your life would of been had Congress and previous presidents not squandered our wealth.

He’s believing DOGE? LOL...

Nice try at trying to distract from the stock market bloodbath though.

They can look at who the contract was rewarded to if they wish to see who got paid BTW.. Sort of accounting 101
