2nd hand smoke...lets be clear you indocterated stupid *****

I hate second hand smoke because it smells disgusting and is extremely rude.

I used to be an avid smoker and quit a couple of decades ago. I can't stand to be around smoke anymore, and I can smell a heavy smoker from 50' feet away--LOL

It's funny when you're a smoker you never smell it. But man once you quit you can really smell it and it's bothersome. Most X smokers then get allergic to it.

How about a link for that allergy claim.

I don't need a link I am an X smoker--I know exactly what it does. You talk to any X smoker and they'll tell you the same. Eyes start burning, sinus's act up, throat gets sore, etc.

So is my mother in law, doesn't bother her a bit. Maybe is all in your wittle head.

Your mother in law tolerates it because she is your mother in law. You get around an X smoker that you're not real familiar with and they'll you to take it somewhere else, or will walk away from you.

This is a common issue with X smokers. If you don't believe me, QUIT and wait a year and then get around some cigarette smoke--LOL

Quit for more than an year when I got my hip broke, didn't bother me a bit to be around it.

All you need to do is ask X-smokers if your smoke bothers them. Not just your mother in law--LOL They're not trying to be mean or offensive to you, when they say YES, because it really does create a reaction to them, which is not unusual.

Well color me indocterated, whatever that means. My Grandmother died of lung cancer and never smoked a single cigarette but she lived in a small house with my Grandfather who chain smoked for 40 years. My piano instructor who never smoked a single cigarette died of lung cancer but he played smoky lounges all his adult life. I'm sure if I take a few minutes I can find a "study" that does find a link between second hand smoke and lung cancer but I don't need one.
I quit smoking 16 years ago and can't really stand to be in rooms that allow smokers to light up. I can smell it on people who do smoke and its rather noxious. So I avoid situations in which smoking is allowed.

However, in your entire diatribe, you cannot make anything more than an anecdotal connection to those deaths and smoking. So, I'm sorry you lost these people, but you simply cannot blame smokers for their deaths.

There is no evidence and never will be one that 2nd hand smoke will kill you before you stuff your face with pizza to death..dumb *****.

That is all...oh wait and this

Study Finds No Link Between Secondhand Smoke And Cancer

A large-scale study found no clear link between secondhand smoke and lung cancer, undercutting the premise of years of litigation including a Florida case that yielded a $350 million settlement.

The article in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute details a study of 76,000 women over more than a decade, which found the usual link between smoking and cancer. Lung cancer was 13 times more common in current smokers, and four times more common in former smokers, than in non-smokers.

The biggest problem with second hand smoke, is that all those people who quit smoking, develop a severe allergy to someone who is smoking around them. Throat gets sore, sinus's start acting up, and eyes start to burn and water.

But I don't believe it's a good idea to smoke indoors--it really doesn't make mess with nicotine stains on ceilings, walls and windows. Children should be kept smoke free. If they're around a lot of smoke, they'll probably develop the same habit.

I hate second hand smoke because it smells disgusting and is extremely rude.

That's fine and I respect your wishes..

But the whole problem I always have is using fake science for a social change.

Lets be reasonable how the hell you going to die from 2nd hand smoke?
The only way is to live with a chain smoker
Who,funded this study?

Yea I know the worse smoking Nazis are the ex ones
Can you please justify exposing others to second hand smoke?

Isn't smoking the most intrusive habit? When someone is smoking near another who does not smoke, why should the smoker not be asked to extinguish their cigarette out of common courtesy?

I have a couple of friends that still smoke and they're very good about going outside and away from me a non smoker. I never even have to ask them to do that. They're very considerate, and wouldn't dream of smoking in an enclosed area with non smokers.

I don't have a problem with it..

Ya know what I think also, non smokers are jealous of smokers because when we have a problem we will sit back have a smoke break clear our head and then get it done.

Non smokers have to much tension and are uptight all the time.

No, if there's any jealousy going on, it's those cigarette smokers who have tried to quit and can't--LOL They watched their family and friends give it up, and somehow they try--get off of them for a few weeks, months, sometimes even years--and then go back to them.

Smoking is the worst addiction to kick. It's harder to quit smoking than it is to get of any hard core drug around. It's more addictive than Herion, crack cocain whatever. And if you can put them down forever--it shows a true strength, but you have to really want to do it--and you have to be determined to do it.

Decades ago 70% of this nation were cigarette smokers. Today it is less than 30%. Oddly enough Canadians are the smokers of the world now, they still haven't kicked the habit.

What?

I have no jeasouly over non smokers..

My refusal to quit smoking now all has to do by me being forced to buy obama care...

I want you to pay

Undercutting the idea that particulate matter and carcinogens are carcinogenic.

There is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke.

  • Secondhand smoke causes numerous health problems in infants and children, including more frequent and severe asthma attacks, respiratory infections, ear infections, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).1,4
  • Smoking during pregnancy results in more than 1,000 infant deaths annually.4
  • Some of the health conditions caused by secondhand smoke in adults include coronary heart disease, stroke, and lung cancer.1,4

Secondhand smoke causes cancer
Secondhand smoke is known to cause cancer. It has more than 7,000 chemicals, including at least 70 that can cause cancer.

SHS causes lung cancer – even in people who have never smoked. There’s also some evidence suggesting it might be linked in adults to cancers of the:

  • Larynx (voice box)
  • Pharynx (throat)
  • Nasal sinuses
  • Brain
  • Bladder
  • Rectum
  • Stomach
  • Breast
It’s possibly linked in children to:

  • Lymphoma
  • Leukemia
  • Liver cancer
  • Brain tumors
Secondhand smoke causes other diseases and death
Secondhand smoke can be harmful in many ways. For instance, it affects the heart and blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke in non-smokers. Some studies have linked SHS to mental and emotional changes, too. For instance, some studies have shown that exposure to SHS is linked to symptoms of depression. More research is needed to better understand the link between SHS and mental health.

Secondhand smoke and your children’s health
Young children are most affected by SHS and least able to avoid it. Most of their exposure to SHS comes from adults (parents or others) smoking at home. Studies show that children whose parents smoke:

  • Get sick more often
  • Have more lung infections (like bronchitis and pneumonia)
  • Are more likely to cough, wheeze, and have shortness of breath
  • Get more ear infections
Secondhand smoke can also trigger asthma attacks, make asthma symptoms worse, and even cause new cases of asthma in kids who didn’t have symptoms before.

Health Risks of Secondhand Smoke

seems american lung, cancer and pediatrics does not agree.......i wonder who is wrong here?

No. I'm calling you an idiot. I have to drive, but smoking and exposing others to it is an option for you.

I guess this thread is an attempt to back what Mike Pence stated. That there is no "real evidence" that smoking causes cancer. "Well Governor Pence we have graveyards full of evidence that smoking causes lung cancer"--along with many other smoking related diseases that have killed many--many people."
Mike Pence, Cigarette Truther

The point is--everyone, including smokers know that smoking makes the top tier-danger list when it comes to their own health. A Reich winger will rant and rave all day long about the cost of health care, and those "voluntary" things people do, like drugs and the cost to the taxpayers of this nation, but negate to look at the most dangerous (legal) drug of all tobacco, and what it does to the cost of healthcare.

People who don't smoke really don't care to be in a smoke filled environment. X smokers definitely have a hyper sensitivity to it. And any smoker should have the curtesy to know and understand that, and go outside to smoke. If they don't they're just A-holes.
