Hint: Socialists put a lot of thought into how they can achieve their goals, and they are fairly open about the steps that they think are necessary. They advocate for policies and programs that expand the government's power to control our economy. They see nationalizing fundamental services in society as key to socializing the whole economy. I'm surprised that you're unaware of this.

It's fair to say that a Democrat can support these "socialistic" programs without, necessarily, being in favor of the broader agenda - but their support still furthers that agenda. It's not something to dismiss.
