It's June 12 - 15 at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA. A couple of good players have already got a good look at it and it was tough:

Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott get a look Monday at Oakmont — and it's a brute

Normally, I'd say a course and set-up like that favors a player like Brooks Koepka but he's not playing well. He missed the cut at The Masters and PGA Championship. Bryson DeChambeau played well in the majors last year and so far this year. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are also. I got no predictions for this one. Looking forward to watching it.

Scottie is my favorite if can keep it in the fairway. Otherwise, Bryson is my pick.

The Best US Opens are the ones where the winners barely clear par for the weekend.

Let the Honda Classics end at -18 or -23, I want US Opens that end at +1 for the winner.

All I want for Father's Day is a quiet day at home and the U.S. Open. Watched most of the final day of the Canadian Open yesterday.

I think you're gonna get what you like this time. From all I've read about the course setup and conditions, par sounds like a great score.

Oakmont has been setup really tough with rough 4-5 inches high. If there's any rains the winning score will be over par.

The players complained the rough was too high, I heard someone say that even after cutting it that it is still really hard to hit out of.

That rough is so thick and juicy, it just wraps around the hosel and even the strongest players can't hit it solid. We could see some scores in the 80s.

The greens are fast today already.

Leader at 4 under through 13. If this keeps up the greenskeepers are going to have to go with real nasty hole locations for tomorrow to even things up.

15th post
This is going on barely 4 miles from my house and I can't wait for these fuckers to LEAVE.

I'm going to miss this because I will be traveling and that sucks, of all the tournaments this year other than the Masters this is the one to see, mainly because of the difficult playing conditions, and also the LIV guys are in on it. I believe Dustin Johnson has won this tournament before, and at Oakmont (or some other tournament at Oakmont)

Watched a good bit of 3 featured groups live streamed. Brooks Koepka looked good today. He and Jordan Spieth finished the highest among the 3 groups I watched. Hitting fairways is a must.

Do you remember what Oakmont used to look like? Do you like the new look? Just curious.
