2025 Social Security COLA Disqualifies Harris & Trump Both

False. They are fantasies. The data on cost of living is widely available. As are numbers on inflation.
I asked if you want to BET.
Do you, or don't you ?

Fight or Flight.

As for the JOKE of "data on cost of living", and the JOKE of "numbers on inflation", you already got your education on that, in Post # 16.
Do your homework, student.

For everyone else with an attachment to reality:

NO, YOU LEARN, from the guy who is PAYING THOSE RENTS RIGHT NOW, as we talk, not from Vivian Tejada, who obviously, like you , doesn't know her ass from her elbow about what she's talking about.

And if you're too chickenshit to BET me about your "fantasies" claim, than you should :anj_stfu:

BTW,........According to a study report by Christine Romans of NBC Nightly News, the cost to buy a house ie. monthly mortgage payment has DOUBLED (there's that 100% inflation again), from @ $1300/month in 2020, to $2600 in 2024.

So in light of these outrageous dichotomies of incomes and costs, could the president (who is the boss of the Social Security Commissioner of the Social Security Administration) step in snd fix this, to make income increases match up with cost increases ?
He absolutely can and should.

#1 You really don’t understand that the method of calculation SS COLA is set in the law by Congress and the President can’t change that?

#2 That the GOP has called for changes to the COLA calculation to make future increases SMALLER.

WW

The President can change it any time at all. Dont think so ? Just look at all the laws Biden has manuevered around, over the past 4 yrs.

Immigration & Jan 6 incarcerations alone, would be more than enough

Ahhh…

No he can’t and those that support the attempt are no better that the Libs.

No, I will ignore your useless anecdote and consider all the data. As a rational person would.

No evidence of criminal activity by Biden = Biden is a criminal

Here it is Social Security recipients. The 2025 COLA. A whopping 2.5% increase. Arent you thrilled ? Wanna throw a party ?

This is a DROP of 0.7% from the 2024 COLA. In the meantime, the rent on all apartments where I used to live has skyrocketd from $600/month to $1200, in just 3 years. If the landlord requires your little chicken coop to be renovated, uh oh, now you're paying $1600/month (167% increase from the $600).

So let's take the lower amount IF you're lucky enough to evade the renovation hammer. Your rent increase is $1000 more out of your pocket, Your 3 years COLAs are about $86.

Both candidates for president are ignoring this, leaving us to think they're OK with it. Of course if Trump had become president in 2021, we would have had the near zero inflation we had all 4 years of his presidency, an we wouldn't have thr astronomical food and gas prices & housing rents of the current Biden train wreck.

But before election day gets here, somebody needs to talk directly and honestly about this absurd and insulting COLA we're heading to in Jan 2025. Trump's dodge talk about economic growth, and Harris' typical, mindless, word salads won't cut it. Only something that directly matches up to the inflation we're drowning in, will.

Inflation is now 2.5% about 3.1% for the year. However, it is true that Social Security COLA's are always less than the inflation rate because they calculate inflation differently for Social Security recipients. As I recall this was how Reagan saved Social Security, by screwing the beneficiaries.

Maybe you really don't understand that the role of th presidency has been altered, and since Joe Biden has been president, anything is on the table now.

As for the your #2, :link:

Inflation is not the point of reference for what a Social Security increase should be. The item needing reference to is what prices are now (astronomical), due to the 100-200% inflation of the past 3.5 years.

Those prices/rents are not a penny less just because they're not rising as fast as in 2023.
In fact, they are still rising above their unheard of rates.

False! Biden has been accomplice in thousands of violations of both US Code 8, 1324 and US Code 8 1325, as well as
US Code 18, Section 3161 (c)(1) -

Time limits and exclusions

In any case in which a plea of not guilty is entered, the trial of a defendant charged in an information or indictment with the commission of an offense shall commence within seventy days from the filing date (and making public) of the information or indictment, or from the date the defendant has appeared before a judicial officer of the court in which such charge is pending, whichever date last occurs. If a defendant consents in writing to be tried before a magistrate judge on a complaint, the trial shall commence within seventy days from the date of such consent.

Biden DOJ violated hundreds of times against Jan 6 protestors.

US Code 18, Section 1507 - and the Kavanaugh home protest debacle.

There are many more, but I'm trying to watch the critical Game 5 of the World Series right now.

Sure you will. Because like all good leftist airheads, all you know is data, data, data, no matter who or where it's coming from, and no matter how full of crap it is, as long as it fits your wackadoodle, obvious BS agenda.

Those of us who have SEEN our rents skyrocket from $600/month to $1200/mo, and have been LIVING with it, don't need your lying ludicrous "data". We KNOW what's been happening, and cant be fooled by some gooneybird named Vivian Tejada, or anybody else who you can dig up, and toss at us, while acting like they have a shred of credibility.

In your little leftist world, "anecdote" may be a bad world. In the conservative REAL world, what you call "anecdote", are REALITY ,that millions of Americans are living with day in and day out. :doubt:

No, I will ignore your useless anecdote and consider all the data. As a rational person would.
And after your wild, reckless claim in Post # 13, that I was posting "fantasies", and then turned out to be a gutless coward, when I challenged you with a bet, I will ignore your irrationality, as well as your pitiful, mindless connection to data, and inability to simply see the world around you for what it is.

Inflation by year has been:
  • 2024 3,1%
  • 2023: 4.1%
  • 2022: 8.0%
  • 2021: 4.7%
Currently it's 2.5%

There is no way you can get 100%-200% out of that.

Your problem you are a liberal. Liberals are addicted to data. Data is the biggest joke-hogwash pile of horsefeathers in human history.

Now for the REALITY.
Gas prices all over Tampa, FL were $1.89/gallon on Jan 20, 2021.
Later that year and in 2022, they were $4.26/gallon (in some states they were much higher than that)

Just the $4.26/gal is a 125% increase over $1.89. There is no way you can get 8% out of that.

Same thing applies to housing rents. All over Tampa (and most of Florida & other states), in 2020, 1 bdrm apartments rented for $600/mo.
Now they rent for $1200 to $2500, and even higher in some locations. 100-200% inflation.

Did you expect Joe Biden's government to tell you that ?

But we consumers don't need to read his published numbers. WE ARE PAYING THESE RENTS & GAS PRICES. We don't have to ask. We already KNOW.
