2012: Obama Wins. Now what?

Anyone who buys groceries or pays to heat/cool their home knows they aren't better off now than 3yrs ago, unless they've gotten really good income increase.

There is a hidden inflation in the system that regular people see but people like Obama don't. Between lack of job opportunities and rising costs, people are getting squeezed. And they know whom to blame.

Yes, the people on Wall Street who destroyed the world economy.

And I am making more money than I ever have.

No, the president of the united states. Again wrong. You're consistent at least.
You're making more money because welfare payments have gone up.

Good for you, wait till you move from the fryer to the grill. Not that there is anything wrong with that, at least you're working.

So let's say the unthinkable happens and Obama wins re-election (G-d forbid). He is sworn in in January 2013 (Heaven forbid) and serves another 4 years (L-rd save us). Now what?
The Congress will go over to the GOP, having the lowest ratings in years. What will Obama do for 4 years? He is the most compromised president in history. He doesn't have a shred of credibility with the GOP, having demonized them for over 4 years. He has proven he cannot work with them. He has proven he ignores all advice contrary to his own ideas (see, Simpson-Bowles). He is unable to get a single piece of legislation through Congress. And his regulatory moves are blocked by Congressional action.
Is that really the formula for success? Gridlock?
No, Obama is unable to govern. The Dems need to choose someone else as a sacrificial lamb.

It will be fun watching you go crazier and crazier over the next four years. That will be sweet.

For your post...the GOP will will control of the Senate in 2012; if they don't that would be a shock. And we'll have another do-nothing Congress.

The cool thing will be that a crane company in Georgia will not hire a single person until 2016. He he he.

Hopefully Obama will realize that the GOP is not interested in governing, just ruling and frankly, grow the hell up a little bit and realize that you can't be reasonable with unreasonable people. Maybe he can adjust his stances a bit to be more combative with Congress.

The only way that incompetent could be more combative is to call out the national guard against Congress. He has failed to compromise on every issue. The budget deal did not get done until he was asked to leave the room.
It'll be fun watching your head explode when Obama loses by the largest margin since Reagan. Assuming you don't die from STD's in the meantime.

Well? What will you do? Complain and shout hyperbolic things for another four years?

If the reaction to Clinton's reelection in 1996 after years of being chased by Ken Starr for issues that were completely unrelated to the original Whitewater investigation is any indication of what an Obama 2nd term would mean, I would have to say that Republicans would probably look for any premise or pretense to start impeachment proceedings.

Exaggerate much?

Want to make it interesting?

Okay here are the stakes:

If Obama wins, you change your sig line to "All Hail President Obama: Your President, My President, Our President."

If anybody else wins, I'll change mine to "All Hail President _________: Your President, My President, Our President."

And leave it there until 1/1/13.

Are you scared that your boys might lose?

C'mon...be a man and put your sig line where your mouth is. What are you afraid of Shirley?

Whoever the republican nominee is, the election will not be about how acceptable that nominee is, but how much obama is despised.

How do you think Arnold Schwarzeneggar got to be governor of California? A less than ideal candidate took the office not because he was liked or qualified but because Gray Davis was the subject of universal revulsion.

Glad you think that..

The Republican candidate will have to meet the broad standard of being presidential. It means, I can be trusted to run this country. Only two of the candidates can meet that standard.....Romney and Gingrich

Republicans will have to run on something........Running on the assumption that America hates Obama is a losing proposition

All they need to do is talk jobs and democrats are left out of the discussion. After 3 years we know only government jobs are important to democrats.

If all we Republicans do is talk jobs, we will lose the House, Senate, and White House.

We have been absolute, abject failure in this area.

In the immortal words of Tonto, what you mean "we" Paleface?

reality check. The incumbant party is the one that gets its ass handed to it on the jobs issue, whether that is fair or not. Right now, that's Obama. In 2014, it might be the Republicans.

If Obama wins.

Well, frankly, he might. Romney and Gingrich both have their own sets of weaknesses, but it would really depend on where the economy ends up. If it gets a little better, Obama might have a fighting chance. If it gets worse, he's toast.

But he will be stuck with a Republican House, and more than likely, A Republican Senate. And if he wins by slashing and burning, he isn't going to get a warm welcome when he gets back.

2014 is going to be especially problematic for him. He's going to be defending all those Senate Seats the Democrats picked up in 2008.

The GOP has proven it is unwilling to work with Obama.

What you think is immaterial, Full-Auto, about "we". Here we are working for the GOP as hard as we can, and the questions are why aren't both parties working together to create jobs, and the GOP seems as bad or worse than the Dems.

You better start worrying about the GOP and how it is working for jobs if you want Obama gone.

Very true. Obama has completely alienated the opposing party to the point where he can't work with them.

Which is probably the best argument as to why he should go.

No, they should go for putting their personal feelings ahead of what is best for America. Obama's biggest mistake has been trying to work with these people.
