six degrees F here in suburban Pittsburgh. The current Winter season is unusually harsh compared to recent years. We may go three weeks without a moment of 40 degrees or better.

This is what it was like when I was in high school in the 60's. There would be snow on the ground from mid-November until mid-March.

Same here. Here in Toledo, Ohio it is 0 degrees F on the mercury thermometer in the Stevenson screen weather station in my back yard. But the temp on the weather station on my pickup truck in the driveway is electronically logging 4.418 degrees F.
