The tale is told by the lack of Republican congressional and senatorial candidates siding up to him.

Given Trump's self destructive nature, any candidate standing beside him the next time he insults POWs or women or Muslims or Mexicans might just have to walk those insults back or own them along with the Donald.

Trump has the temperament of a carnival barker, the political savvy of an eighth grade civics student and the appeal of a used car salesman. These hollow qualities cannot be strong enough to sustain a presidential election, let alone be the tent pole strategies of down ticket candidates.

He has no coat tails to aid GOP candidates and will be abandoned by any serious Republican candidate.

I have agreed some time ago that the man has far greater appeal to about half of the GOP voters than I thought. Nothing in the numbers show, however, that it any of that is going to translate to more than 40% of the vote. He will be beat worse than Goldwater.

He has consistently outperformed all these bogus ceilings so why on earth are you buying into this one? Do you honestly not see that the Trump phenomena is a populist political revolution? You know, I know, and God and angels and all witnesses know that he was dealing with the GOP primaries.

I honestly see that some of Trump's support is populist, and that is great, but (one) it won't be enough and (two) Trump is not a populist.

And, yes, I agree the Party will not be the same again.
