In San Diego in 77' I witnessed a bunch of blacks beating the shit out of one white guy on the bus.
In 68' my brother Jim was attacked in San Diego by a group of blacks who held him down and stabbed is hands with knives.
In 64' and 68' blacks burned down Watts and tried taking a bus to San Diego to start fires there....and the Highway Patrol pulled them over and arrested them.

Very interesting. I wonder if I would be treated differently than the white guy. My mother's of Nigerian descent, my father of Irish descent. My mother's skin is fairly dark. I'm lighter skinned, but most importantly, in this case, my eyes are blue. Also, I wonder how things would go for these guys in a predominantly black community.

If you're white and curious about real life racism, try walking in an black neighborhood and see what happens. I have, and guess what...its a little scary. It goes from nobody cares to being yelled at and even chased and threatened. No human being is above this petty bullshit tribalism.

I live out on a prairie. Most of us folks out here are into farming one way or the other. We have them all out here, Caucasians, Mexicans, Negros, Indians(native Indians not India Indians) & even a few Oriental folks. Out here its get the crops up & to market like we are too busy working fields, repairing fences & equipment plus most of us hold daytime jobs & do the farm work after we get home from our places of employment. We could give a rip about a fellow Americans nationality, color of skin or facial features as we depend upon fellow farmers for help when we cannot afford to repair a piece of needed equipment etc. New faces out in these parts regardless of the faces features are viewed as a potential ASSETS as they may be helpful to the rest of us sodbusters when in a pinch. The nearest town to my place of abode is Deer Park in Spokane county Washington state, below is our areas crime stats.

We had a Boogytown in San Diego that I used to drive thru. They had a pretty good LA Gumbo place at the top of the hill.
But sometimes the Hoodrats would park in the middle of the street in their low-riders and shoot the shit and not care about people honking their horns at them to get out of the way.

I've done more than just 'walking' in predominantly black areas; I work in them. Since late 2019, I have been a superintendent at a job site in the most crime-ridden area of DC for 2 ground-up commercial buildings (ground-up means new construction, demo existing structures). I had the DC police stop by several times telling me that as a white female I shouldn't be in that area at all, especially after the sun sets or on weekends. The police offered 'protective services', which I denied. I found the locals in that area to be very nice people, most wanting nothing to do with the problems 'outsiders' brought there (drugs, crime). There are a few that live in that neighborhood that would try to start trouble with me, but each time they have tried, those I spoke to on a regular basis put a stop to it really fast. Point is, treat people with respect and you'll get the same in return.
