The Dolphins also made it to the superbowl in 1971 but lost. So that's three years in a row they made it to the superbowl. Amazing for a slow and unathletic team. Must have just been luck that all the teams they beat all season and in the playoffs to get to the superbowl for three years in a row were "crap teams". 1972 Dolphins were one of the best teams of all time. Far from overrated. You lose.

And they were a fairly new team as well from the "inferior" AFL. But you could also say they were led by an NFL guy Don Shula, so I guess it never ends!
