Did they deport them to any prison, in a country outside our borders? Wiki was just the first that popped up and there are multiple articles, all over the place. I hear CECOT in El Salvador is a hell hole. If innocent, how would you like be snatched up and deported there without a hearing before leaving the country. Mind you, I don't give a damn about the actual drug gang members, who can rot there, for all I care. But, the only way to sort them out is with a hearing, the way the law is written. Declaring and Emergency to dispense with the law on a situation that has been building since the 1980s, just doesn't get it.
