13 Countries with the least religious freedom

No Israel? Your going to make Kalam, Shogun and PF Titmore very mad! And its interesting countries where 98-99% of the population is one sec of a Religion, like Libya is not on the list. I guess too few outsiders to oppress!

The U.S. Religious freedom Commission recently released a list of the 13 countries with the least amount of religious freedom. The List included all 8 of the nations on the same list last year.

Those on the list include:

* Myanmar (Burma)
* China
* Eritrea
* Iran
* North Korea
* Saudi Arabia
* Sudan
* Uzbekistan
* Iraq
* Nigeria
* Pakistan
* Turkmenistan
* Vietnam

Funny how all of these Nations also have governments who are no friend to America and the American Way way of life. Possibly the most disturbing name on that list is Iraq, after all of the influence we have on that Nation we should think they would be more open to religious freedom, especially after the Saddam regime.
The panel did criticize the current and former administrations in Washington for doing far too little to make basic religious rights universal.

This should give us something to think about as we wonder the actions of our own government as we continue to lose more and more freedom every year. It doesn't really matter where you stand on matters of religion, the freedom of religion is one of the most basic rights. Without this right, no other freedom is truly attainable.

This is why people look at Americans like dumbasses that live in their own little world and have no clue what the fuck they're talking about.

This is also the reason why it's so easy to convince stupid Americans to go to war with nations they've never f-ing heard of. Libya, as much as I don't like al-Gaddafi, is a largely secular nation, respects religious freedom and religious rights. Their government is almost identical to that of Saddam Hussein's in Iraq and the current regime in Syria where women are educated and treated equally in society and religion is largely a personal affair (hence why the christians in Iraq got scared when the US overthrew Saddam). Tunisia and Senegal are largely the same way, even though I think it's illegal to proselytize to Muslims in Tunisia.

Many Americans make this same fundamental error in thinking about Iraq.

They are not "just like us". Their culture is very different.

When Iraqis go through police training then turn around and sell their uniforms and weapons, and never report for duty they are NOT doing anything that is not in line with their culture.

This fundamental misunderstanding is why we can NOT win the "war" in Iraq.

All of this goes back to American arrogance in how we view the world.

There was a way to restore order and keep Iraq from becoming an Iran-like Islamic state. We blew it though when we expelled the Ba'ath Party from politics.

Sad to say, but establishing another Saddam Hussein Ba'ath Party dictatorship was the only way to keep Iraq in the hands of the secular Sunni minority. There were plenty of defectors within the Ba'ath Party we could have used that secretly hated Saddam. This was well known. A lot of them were high up in Saddam's cabinet that's why he was constantly killing off his administration.

We could have easily used one of them and had a US supported secular dictatorship, if that's really what we wanted.

Instead of being smart though, we went ahead and branded the whole Ba'ath Party to be evil and chased them into Syria, killed them or banned them from politics and now they're stuck with a government that's been rapidly moving towards Islamofascism.

"Freedom of religion" is just a stupid catch-phrase and a sham and used by the most religiously oppressive societies.

America is the most religiously oppressive society in all human history. That is because it does not offer freedom from religion, which is the only legitimate form of freedom that relates to religion.

Not.
Even.
Close.

More religiously oppressive societies still exist today, just at look at some of the Muslim theocracies in the Middle East.

We're not perfect ourselves but to say we're the worst of all time is just flat out wrong.

Incorrect. You are wrong, and just stating I am wrong is not going to cut it.

1. christianity is the most addictive and toxic of all religions by a country mile.
2. muslim citizen-slaves KNOW they are oppressed victims of society in terms of greater number and clarity.
3. american is an utterly religious and fascist dictatorship, so much so that even your supreme leader cannot make a speech without mentioning the god delusion, and your currency carries an insane and delusional message.
4. american citizen-slaves are so oppressed and conditioned they dont even know they are.
5. Punishment and physical co-ertion are nothing compared with the moral and societal pressures and psychological tactics and brainwashing deployed by america.

America has no separation between church and state. The religious doctrine pf america is just a tool of social control - and that is all it was ever designed to be. Amazingly all your leaders have to do is lie and pretend you have freedom and separation of church and state...and they will get away with this because most humans want to believe it and lack philosophical insight.

Someone forgot to take their meds this morning.

Nigeria is our enemy?

I had no clue...

I didn't call them enemies!
