The NFL? Has been since it became illegal to play defense.
I can understand that. The Lace Panty crowd was after them in a big, Big-Time way. Lot of guys getting hurt. Plus, it made the leftists' pussies itch. Too macho.
There's also the fact that the athletes today are Much bigger, Much Stronger and Much Faster while bone-density and ligaments have remained about the same.
What bothers me about the NFL is it's insatiable greed. Their catering to certain TV Markets. To commercial success.
Do you think Tay-Tay and Travis had anything to do with those phantom calls that KC was getting? Yes, KC was a good, very good team, and they may not have needed the help. But the NFL didn't want to take any chances and helped them anyway. Couldn't lose those shots of Tay-Tay sitting the Luxury Box looking all concerned baout her boyfriend now, could we.
Green Bay gets a lot of Free passes because they have a National Fan Base. But if you look at the other small market, or low-growth area teams, Cleveland, Cincitucky, Dee-troit, Beefalo, Indy.... The NFL doesn't seem to give them a lot of 'calls' in case you haven't noticed.
Which, like I said, is neither illegal nor immoral. It just sucks. And College Football is not headed in the same direction, it's already there.
Funny how for years, the SEC dominated College Football, then as soon as everybody was allowed to start paying their athletes too, the Big Ten totally dominated. Totally. Level Playing fields don't favor the SEC. And especially the ACC. I guess they'll have to schedule more South Dakota State Bible College type of schools to build their records up. While Ohio State's opener is against Texas. Texas is a good program.
No matter what anybody says, there is no argument at all, none whatsoever, that Ohio State was the best team in College football last year. They beat any and everybody that came out at them when it mattered.
