11 injured, 1 dead in shooting in tourist town of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Law enforcement in South Carolina say 11 people were injured in a shooting in the popular tourist town of Myrtle Beach.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF/Gray News) - Law enforcement in South Carolina say 11 people were injured in a shooting in the popular tourist town of Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach Police said officers saw a disturbance around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday near the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.

Police said during the altercation, officers saw someone fire a gun, at which time the department said an officer also fired their weapon.

Police said 11 people were injured in the incident and are receiving medical treatment. Officers identified the person who was shot and killed as 18-year-old Jerrius Davis of Bennettsville.

It's amazing, with the potential and the intrinsic real estate value that beachfront property usually commands, that they were able to allow Myrtle Beach turn into a ghetto on the beach.

I live in South Myrtle Beach on the border of Surfside Beach. What an absolute (expletive deleted) this area is. Nothing but dumb (expletives deleted) that just can't act normal.

It's a (expletive deleted) free for all here and anything goes.

The city is afraid to do anything for fear of being called out as racist and lets not forget about the white (expletive deleted) trash as well. It's a (expletive deleted) epidemic.

It is likely that everyone there knew the risks. Whites avoid large gatherings of blacks. Blacks should do the same.
