10 Traits Found In Socialists

Politics have changed a lot since the uncivil war.
Lincoln was a republican I think, but he was clearly against states rights and apparently for bigger federal government..
but then I guess that is not a change from todays republicans....

Where on Earth do you get your 'information'?

Wow. So, according to your history books who fought against the Democrat Controlled Southern states that seceded from the Union?
Northern soldiers who never mentioned either political party in their letters home.

Not sure I understand your point, were the states that seceded from the Union run by Democrats or not?

So you're here to argue that Democrats are the party of states' right and self-determination and the Republicans are the party of tyranny and suspension of Habeus Corpus? :eusa_eh:

Totally lame

Do you really have any idea of what socialism is? We could easily substitute the word "Republican" for "Socialist" and be just as accurate

1. Republicans believe in use of force to gain their personal ends

2. Republicans believe in slavery

3. Republicans are racist

need more??

Nice but decidedly not true.
Republicans fought a war to eliminate slavery.
Republicans do not believe in the use of force for personal ends. In fact, they want limits on government power, period.

So thanks, but your silly talking points are flat.

Republicans believe in slavery of the worker. They have fought against labor unions to protect management, they have fought minimum wage laws, fought workplace safety, fought equal pay for equal work

Use of force for personal ends....why are we in Iraq?

Definition of gobbledygook, see above.

I believe Marx thought morality was irrelevant, regardless off ideology.

.......

He probably thought it was a useless bourgeois notion that would be irrelevant in a truly free human society. Anyway his analysis of capitalism didn't focus on fairness and morality but how it would eventually fail because of its inherent contradictions. So in that sense I suppose he pushed aside moral notions, even though he analysed the Factories Acts of 19th Century Britain in the first volume of Capital. I think Engels may have been a bit more of a softy than Marx in that regard, certainly my reading (some years ago admittedly) of his "Condition of the Working Class etc." makes me think that way.

He was a true communist.

Mind you, there is not a lot of money to be made sitting around the British Library all day.

Well, at least not after Oscar Wilde left for France.

I know, the time-line is off but punchlines are more important than history.

The OP is likely either some internet talking point or some email that gets traded around from neocon to neocon. It has no bearing on REAL socialism.

Having lived in a socialist country and studied socialist economic systems...the OP is pure partisan hackery.

1.Socialists believe in the use of force to gain their personal ends. Whether it's light bulbs or alternative energy or public schools or national health care, in the end there's always a gun at your head to get you to conform. If a man holds you up in the street, does it matter if he wants the money for drugs or to bail out someone's mortgage? It's still a gun, and it's still armed robbery.

Ok, how many of you here think the public school system(s) should be outlawed? That it should be illegal for any state to establish a public school system and collect taxes to finance it.

what is socialist equality? do you know?

The OP says it's a sign you're a socialist if you support having a public school system. Do you or do you not support having a public school system,

or are you afraid to answer the question?

Today President Lincoln would be a Democrat. Suggesting todays Republican Party represents the party of Lincoln or TR is absurd.

Like the democrats on here who say any black affiliated with the tea party is only singing and dancing?
Like the dems on here who say that black illiteracy is GENETIC?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Er..no. Lincoln was the original Republican, the Republican party was built on beliefs just like his....that men are equal. All men. Not just certain special men who think like you and look like you.

Very un-democratic party-ish.
Lincoln never viewed the Negroe as equal to the White man.

You probably think Lincoln freed the slaves, don't you?

Lincoln supported a constitutional amendment to guarantee the right of the southern states to remain slave states in perpetuity, for the sake of preserving the union.

The OP is talking about Socialists and you notice how quickly the usual suspects on the Left rush to defend the home team?

Classic Frankenberry. No, I for one didn't notice that. The OP says that if you support having a public school system it's a sign you're a socialist.

Do you support having a public school system?

I have no idea what it means. Why are you afraid to tell me whether or not you support having a public school system?

As I said in my previous post........you could incorrectly apply that hate to any group you oppose...even Republicans
