The problem with your equality arguments here is that people are NOT equal. period.
Every individual by measure is different from every other.
This is the very reason individual liberties and rights must be the first and foremost concern of governments. Every person can have equal recognition under the law and equal protection of rights and liberties and have very different lives and levels of success.
When governments and people start limiting freedoms in favor of fairness we have what we have today, the attempt to equalize results not rights and liberties
We might as well tax a man for having a higher IQ than another because by virtue of his intelligence others are not equal to him.
