An "emergency" is...a serious, unexpected, and often dangerous situation requiring immediate action.
There is no climate emergency. There is no feasible immediate action that would measurably slow the warming of the climate to the extent that it would make a damn bit of difference in the next hundred years. Furthermore, should the predictions of the rational few climate scientists prove accurate, there are mountains of mitigations that we human would/will take to ease the pain. For example, either Miami, Manhattan, New Orleans or Venice will be inundated. The few inhabited islands that are in danger of immersion will have their populations moved at public expense.
The "emergency" talk is for one purpose: to allow the political Left to grasp more power to control the lives of the unsuspecting masses. And the immediate effect would be to make life more expensive and difficult for the working classes NOW, in the hope that some speculative, miniscule impacts will be avoided in a hundred years.
