Your fat arse will get you a free airline seat...

Are you a Canadian citizen or something? If not - how is it any of your fucking business what laws Canadians pass?

:lol::lol::lol: that's fucking rich! Canadians and the whole wide fucking world keep their eyes and opinions on what the US does.. lol, such hypocrisy is most unbecoming...

I'm interested...is there anyone here who thinks this is a good idea?

For airlines to give fat folks a break and not charge them for two seats, or for the government to officiously bustle in and pronounce to everyone what is right and wrong?

Personally, I think the airline is perfectly justified if they don't feel like accepting only one fare for two seats, and it's up to them to decide which is better for business. I don't think it's EVER a good idea for the government to meddle in private business, or to think they in any way would even RECOGNIZE right and wrong if it crawled up their pants leg, let alone know more about it than other people do.

maybe you fat fucking judgemental asses should read the whole bill and what it addresses...it is for disabled people and leaves much of it up to the airlines...its not only for fat asses but for crippled asses....but yall just focus on the part of the story you want to address....dont let them petty facts get in the way of you dumbass views

Doesn't matter. They STILL aren't entitled to an extra seat for free. I am sick up to my earlobes with people whining about "Poor me, poor me, my life sucks so badly because of [fill in the blank], you should dip into your pocket and spend money to make it up to me".

Shit happens to everyone. Just because it happened to you, does that mean you have to spread it around?

Oh, like Canadians don't pontificate on the ills and evils of America?

Here's a thought. If you don't think it's something we should discuss, go away and don't discuss it. Problem solved.

You've gotta love the Socialist Meccas like Canada. Socialism seems to lower the IQ of the general populace by at least 30 points.

Canada's two largest airlines must give disabled and morbidly obese passengers an extra free seat on domestic flights, beginning in January, after the Supreme Court refused yesterday to consider the carriers' appeal of a federal order.

My opinion is that my opinion on the domestic affairs of Canada isn't relevant enough to even bother forming one. I vote here, not in Canada.

Then, once again, why are you on this thread? Is someone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to sit here, spending time and wasting space discussing how meaningless it is to discuss this?

correctomundo,, did ya ever see a disabled person get a "free" ambulance?

"Raunt and uncle"

lol..time for a Scooby snack!

BTW, we need to quit outsourcing our ergonomics business to countries like JAPAN where everyone is about 1/3 the weight, 1/2 the width and 3/5 the height of Americans. I'm sick of bathrooms where the toilet is 10 inches from the floor, and to shut the door you have to lean OVER the toilet. I'm sick of cubicles with walking areas between them wide enough for only one person to walk at a time...in offices where 20 work and use the same printer. I'm sick of cars where the metal framework of the tiny bucket seats dig push my hips together like some sort of press.

I went to a training at a beautiful facility near Portland designed for the elderly and disabled...(though none of the automatic doors worked, go figure) and it was like "ahhhh...THIS is the way EVERYTHING should be". The halls were wide, the steps easy (and avoidable) there was parking all around the facility, the bathrooms...I wanted to move into the bathrooms. They weren't as nice as the ones at the paper but they were big and roomy and the toilets were tall...and it was just wonderful.

But the chairs sucked. Go figure.

So screw the airlines. They can make their friggin seats bigger, or give people seats if they need them.

Yeah - they keep their eyes on our FOREIGN POLICY because it AFFECTS THEM. Canadians and the rest of the world could give a flip about our domestic policy. I guess its hard to understand such subtleties when you've spent 8 years justifying the actions of a complete moron.

tough little titties whiny little libwal... crybaby,, we can talk about Canada and her aeroplane policies anytime we want to,,,,, and who's gonna stop us? not a pansy assed little libwal like you!

It affects them because we are the #1 nation in the world. The most powerful. The highest standard of living. Their foreign policy affects us, too.

Wait..does Canada have a foreign policy? Why no, I don't believe they do. They don't need to, they have the US to protect them. Just like they have the US to supplement their crappy health system and bolster their crappy economy.

So gee, I guess they do have a vested interest in the US.

And they do give a flip about our domestic policy. It comes out every time one of them is stupid enough to open his or her mouth about how "racist" we are, and how we should adopt a lovely health care system such as their own wildly successful one.

I don't know,, is it just me??? or do ya notice that no matter what subject we are speaking about even if it's broccoli farts the pansy asses have to drag Booooosh into it... ya think there's a socket problem or not?????

Oh, yeah. Canadians never get on their high, supercilious horses and condemn the US for not having a domestic policy as "enlightened" and "compassionate" as theirs. Of course not.

And speaking of not understanding subtleties, what was too nuanced for you to comprehend about "if you don't think it should be discussed, shut the hell up about it and blow"?

Well, IMO, we need regulations to require bigger seats with more leg room. I was on a plane once where I couldn't put my legs together because of the seat in front of me. When he put his seat back without telling me, it about broke my kneecaps. No wonder there is so much rage when people are flying.

My brother's right, I should have screamed bloody murder and insisted on being carried off the plane. Maybe then they would provide more legroom for tall people.

All people not being the same, perhaps it's time to either provide bigger seats with more legroom or various sizes of seats and legroom at various prices. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for more legroom.
