You'd Think Obama Could Lay a Wreath or Something....

lets see.....major naval battles.....that would have taken place when warbler was in the navy....

do you know any? so if he served 30 years...he may have seen the very last of vietnam?

Lebanon? :dunno:

Yep - did that, 1983
Left on an amphib out of Norfolk in May - picked up Colonel Gehrharty's (sp) boys in N.C. - got there - put them ashore and SAT 1.5 miles off coast for 7 months. Two Liberty ports the whole cruise - on in Antalyia, the other in Alexandria Egypt.

Fucking farmers would "snipe" at us every night from the mountains.

We used to go ashore on the weekends to play volleyball with the Marines and get shitfaced at Rock Beach.

That lasted until about 3 weeks before the barracks blew up. They cancelled all liberty for us. Must have had the intel that something was going to happen.

The morning the barracks blew up - there was a fire in our galley. We were all out on the flight deck while the fire party was doing there thing - that's when the barracks explosion occurred. We heard it (WAY Loud) - saw the smoke - went to GQ.

Wait....are you saying that there was warning that something might happen before the Barracks bombing?

As for me, I was an Infantryman. I know what you did for uncle Sam, so I find your attempts to claim my job was more REMFy then yours to be hilarious.

They put Infantrymen in silos now? My how times have changed since I was in.

Was Bush Anti American too? Like Disturbed claimed Obama is for not doing anything today?
Stop pushing off the premise. Repeat. Bush at least acknowledged the efforts of our military, Obama has not.

straight up as false as anything could be - he's on video dozens of times acknowledging their efforts. does lying matter to you?

I found this tidbit just for you:

BUSH AND OBAMA...CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE...Revealing

George W. Bush speech after capture of Saddam:

"The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq .The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate 'em."

Barack Obama speech after killing of bin Laden:

"And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network. Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and I authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan."

In fact, Obama's D-Day commemorations mirror the Bush administration's; both commemorated D-Day on significant anniversaries but not annually.

In 2009 President Obama traveled to Normandy for a ceremony honoring the 65th anniversary of D-Day. President Bush honored the day in 2004. In 2005 Bush hosted a concert at the White House to celebrate Black Music Month, and did not recognize the D-Day significance of the date.

One standard for Obama; one standard for everyone else.

I read that anti-Bush screed and it is a lie.

obama never visited the cemetary in France where so many American dead were buried and was the only president who REFUSED to do so. Sarkozy practically begged him but obama partied and left instead.

Face it, really, obama has nothing but contempt for America.
Face it, CON$ervoFascists are pathological liars and have nothing but contempt for America.

Nice hack job on his speech from that night. Here's a link to the whole thing. Little bit different. Oh and let me copy one part that was stated before your little hack job.

"Over the last 10 years, thanks to the tireless and heroic work of our military and our counterterrorism professionals, we’ve made great strides in that effort. We’ve disrupted terrorist attacks and strengthened our homeland defense."

there were rumors at the time something big was up..nobody knew what for sure.

He is a commie pig. Anti-American, Anti-Military.
What did you expect?

Was Bush Anti American too? Like Disturbed claimed Obama is for not doing anything today?

Go right ahead. I am sure he didn't celebrate every year either.
My point is, you are expressing faux outrage because you are partisan hack.

I'm not expressing outrage - I am stating fact.

Obama didn't even have the common courtesy to lay a wreath or thank a vet. Those are facts.

Are you too dense to grasp this?

DO you know for sure he didn't thank a vet today? You follow him around everywhere?

And you are not doing any vets any favors by making this a political issue.
Instead of being a douche bag and posting crap like this go to a nursing home or an assisted living and sit with a WW2 vet today. Listen to their stories, instead of giving a shit about this.
The DittoNazis only know what their MessiahRushie tells them, and no matter how many times their MessiahRushie is exposed as the lying scum he is, they still believe him.

Obama tweets for D-Day - The Hill's Twitter Room

President Obama on Wednesday sent a tweet noting that the country can never forget the heroism of the military service members involved in the victory known as D-Day.

@BarackObama
68 years ago today—D-Day—the brave members of the Allied Forces stormed the beaches of Normandy. We have never forgotten their heroism. —bo

Still alot shooting was going with the druze milita, we escorted the PLO from Beruit to tunis to keep the isrealis from sinking them

Remember the nightly rocket show in the mountains??

Then it strikes me as even WORSE that they were not prepared for that driver.

The rules of engagement were ridiculous. So fucking "PC" didn't want to hurt any Middle East feeling. The guys souldn't even have a round chambered. You can't "undeploy" a whole MARG or MEU, or whatever the hell it was called - with three weeks warning. They got the Sailors out of there from the supporting ships (i.e. liberty cancelled), but the Marines were sitting ducks. Horrible thing that happened.

If the guys on the ground were allowed to run things, vs. the politicians - things would have gone a whole lot better.

What a fuck up.

And of course - Colonel Gerharty (again, sp) was made the scapegoat.

The rules of engagement for that campaign are on the internet if you're interested.

Not a warning -rather Intel that something was gonna happen.

Then it strikes me as even WORSE that they were not prepared for that driver.

I dont think that a truck bomb had been used yet..also I think that they did not believe that they were goning to be the target.

Car bombs had already been used by Hezbollah in Israel and elsewhere.... but not widespread.

I have always considered the Oct. 83 bombing in Beirut as the "OFFICIAL" starting point of the Terrorism War against the U.S.
