Well, yes, telling people that guns solves problems when they actually cause problems is a problem in movies.

Which is why we never see Dirty Harry getting investigated by IAB in any of his movies. He also never accidentally shoots a civilian.

According to the Department of Justice...when bill clinton was in office...their research into gun self defense showed that Americans use guns to stop violent attack and save lives 1,500,000 times a year, with the majority of self defense never even having the gun fired...the criminal runs away, surrenders and is held for police and when the gun is fired, they are injured rather than killed...out of 1,500,000 defensive gun uses a year, only about 235 involve shooting and killing the actual moron criminal who can't take a hint when confronted by an armed victim.......

So...9,616 gun murders in 2015, the majority, 90% by people who cannot legally buy, own or carry guns.

vs.

1,500,000 law abiding Americans using guns to stop criminals and to save lives.......

As of the 1990s there were 200 million guns in private hands, and 1.2 million people carrying guns for self defense....

in 2016 there are now 357 million guns in private hands and 15 million people carrying guns for self defense...

and our gun murder rate went down 49% and our accidental gun death and non fatal gun accident rates both went down, not up.....
