Not really. The Royals and Marlins were flukes. The big market teams have made the playoffs incessantly since the 1994 strike.Anytime the Yankees don't win the WS they should fire the manager and the GM. With the unfair big-market advantage they have, anything less than a WS win is an utter failure.
That makes sense to me but reality shows that the more free market MLB has more diversity of teams winning championships than what we see in the more socialist NFL.
"Big markets" like.... Seattle the first year after 1994 to Minneapolis this year.....and in between, Denver..... Tampa..... Milwaukee...... St. Louis...... Cleveland..... oh wait
