Study: Young, Single, Childless Women Earn More Than Men - TIME

snip,
according to a new analysis of 2,000 communities by a market research company, in 147 out of 150 of the biggest cities in the U.S., the median full-time salaries of young women are 8% higher than those of the guys in their peer group. In two cities, Atlanta and Memphis, those women are making about 20% more. This squares with earlier research from Queens College, New York, that had suggested that this was happening in major metropolises. But the new study suggests that the gap is bigger than previously thought, with young women in New York City, Los Angeles and San Diego making 17%, 12% and 15% more than their male peers, respectively. And it also holds true even in reasonably small areas like the Raleigh-Durham region and Charlotte in North Carolina (both 14% more), and Jacksonville, Fla. (6%).

Should the government do something about this?
Is there some sort of sexist prejudice going on that puts a woman's pay higher than a man's pay?
Does anybody but me find it hilarious that the liberal claim of the south being racist, homophobic and sexist actually has the highest disparity with a 20% positive disparity in favor for women in Atlanta and Memphis?
Will liberals now protest and petition congress to even the pay gap between men and women now that women get paid more than men in their peer group?

This has been the case for quite some time. When using apples to apples comparisons based on experience, education, and training, women have been making equal or more than men. The simple fact is that it is less expensive to avoid any appearance of gender discrimination than it is to be sued for it. It has been that way for a long time.

You know it.
I know it.

But some dumb-asses claim there is discrimination against woman and some even take it so far as to claim that there is a war on women.
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sadly ignorant.
