Ok, some people are uncomfortable with their own sexuality, and especially with everyone else's. But going from that discomfort to actively seeking information suppression is bizarre. Consequently, being bizarre it naturally attracts my interest and I spend rather a lot of time wondering about it. Is it like politics and money-motivated? Suppose it's possible, but there are easier ways to get money and even more of it than suppressing information not having anything to do with business or politics directly. Is it religiously-motivated? Seems logical, but what do religions have to gain suppressing sex information? Well, let's look at what such information does, and what it prevents:

- Sex information and pornography teach us about the beauty of the human body. Watching people having sex informs the viewer about what's possible, what's fun, and how to do it.

- Pornography also helps make people feel more comfortable about their body. We can't all be doctors and go to medical school, but we can all watch some nice porn and learn about our own bodies that way.

- Porn also stimulates the imagination, something sorely lacking in this generation as computers have gotten powerful enough to depict anything we could previously only imagine. Now if you want to show something in a movie or game you can. Whereas previously, oweing to technological limits you had to imagine some of it.

- Porn also curtails criminality. Not everything some people sexually fantasize about is legal, positive, or good. So long as they remain fantasies, and don't become realities, everyone's happy and safe.

- There's no conclusive evidence porn makes sexual crimes more likely. But there's ample evidence it reduces it.

With so many good things, and no objective bad things to it, why would anyone interested in safe and sane society come out against it? Well, looking back at who's against it, namely religion, this article comes to mind:

Why Is Mississippi More Religious Than New Hampshire?
Religion thrives on misery—and chokes on prosperity.

If religions seek tithes and are thus motivated by money, and people are more religious in times of hardship and strife, then the more society is plagued with problems, the more people will be into religion. Whereas if society looks like a 60's hippy free-love open-air festival, religious interest will lessen effecting their bottom line.

So how do those who want more misery get that? Well, they understand full-well that if sexuality is suppressed societies become more violent. More violence = more religion, more religion = more money.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong. ;)

Please direct your reading audience to some of the "ample evidence" that pornography reduces sex crimes.

Or were you talking out of your anus?

Already have in the various porn-subject threads. Now you'll have to actually read them instead of just flaming them.
